First time I had sushi here I was really surprised at how good it was for a small mall store with great prices. Since then it is very hit and miss and I have eaten here over twenty times always trying to find that original taste. My first experience was a Wed lunch and the fish was so delicious that it makes me think there is something to the saying "eat sushi on Tuesday " or Wednesday morning but no later! I don't know, but it appears to me that from Thursday on the quality declines. Now, most people don't know that in the USA all sushi fish is initially frozen and due to high demand even prime cuts like fatty toro too. The USDA requires freezing to kill parasites. Even in Japan 50-60% of fish is frozen. Rules were; no longer than seven days. However that is not always adhered to. But to make things more complicated rare fish cuts such as Bluefin toro are now frozen in -70 deg. super refrigerators and the fish is as good as fresh. Most sushi restaurants won't have super refrigerators. So I figure that fish previously frozen arrives Tuesday morning and is served Tuesday/Wednesday thawed and is quite "fresh" but then the fish is refrozen impacting its quality and texture (you can refreeze items including fish if briefly thawed) Thawed fish though will still have a two day window ( but.....?!) This review is not particular to Ami sushi but what are we actually eating when having sushi? At Nobu we spent $600.00 on sushi for two, but it was no better than that first Wednesday afternoon at Ami sushi. Go figure. Staff here are wonderful and super friendly.

One of my favorite sushi places in the area! They never miss! Whether ordering takeout or dining in, the food is always delicious and the ingredients are high quality. They take pride in their hand and cut rolls and they should! The staff is always friendly and helpful and the chefs are too. Will always recommend this place to others and their prices are very fair. An easy 5 stars, every time.

My new favorite. This is the bomb place. I'm never going anywhere else. Also the new Baja Roll is unbelievable. I think I cried. An original creation for Ami. Everything we ordered was very fresh. Gyoza was also a 10/10. Also the sushi chefs are very good looking.

I come here all the time but tonight my food was bad. Like it wasn't fresh. It smelled and tasted bad. Be careful y'all! And my sister got the runs with what she ordered .

The Sushi is Great Don't get me wrong, I just left here a few minutes ago but service was also good until I had to pay, the waitress forcefully asked for a tip. I normally tip when I eat there, Due to personal reasons I was unable to tip today. While signing my receipt I didn't add a tip and she asked if I left a tip at the table and I told her I was unable to. While waiting for our order to go she came out with a brand new receipt and handed it to my friend so she can sign and add a tip which was ignorant of her because it was my card. Tips are optional and voluntary, I will not be going back there due to the rude waitress..

This place used to be my go-to. Ever since the quarantine their quality has gone down so much. It’s such a shame. It’s not worth it when there’s so many other places to get sushi. Sorry Ami Sushi, I hope you guys recover and make quality a priority.
