Avila's El Ranchito - Santa Ana

Everything was delicious and authentic!

Monday night's vibe was quiet, somber, and their best days behind them. There was nobody, no staff at the front door, no customers on the patio, 3 customers in the bar dinning area, me, and the bartender. The bartender was great yet their famous alvila soup was salty and only with a limited amount of chicken, most of which was shards vs pieces.

The amenities are worn down, dust on all of the fixtures and picture frames, bathroom without paper towels.

Long ago, on the less busy days, this avila location was an enjoyable place to eat. Yet today, not close to that. I'll pass the next time I'm in the neighborhood.

Was pleasantly surprised. No wonder it’s been around for over 40 years! The chile relleno is to die for! The shredded beef chimichanga was awesome. And to nail it, the flan…….que rico! This place has become our Mexican food favorite in the area!

We went around 4 on a Saturday. It wasn't crowded and they gave us such amazing service. This is the first El Ranchito in OC, the food is great, great service and the restaurant is huge.

The food was amazing. Everything was properly seasoned. Not too much salt. Not too little. The pastry surrounding my chicken and rice was light and flaky which I've never had in a Mexican restaurant before. Everything seems overly saturated with oil, not here. The sauces you could tell were handmade from old recipes. With love, highly recommend

Good basic Mexican food. Nice indoor atmosphere of a Spanish house. There is an outdoor patio which is dog friendly but is right alongside a busy street. There is a high wall enclosing the patio so you only hear the traffic.
