Old timely, old world America ambience. The establishment was se up in the 60s. Immediately being greeted with a case of New York inspired sweet delicacies, pastries & savory treats. The chopped liver as a starter item with the creamy, marbled eye bread, Greek black olives was a good decision.
They were out of the knish which something we were looking forward to. The prices could be lowered a little for the quantities served. Counter, booth seating & dining table...

Based on trying Benji's vs the place on Kaetella, Benji's pastrami, corned beef, latkes, and homemade chicken soup are better quality here. When in OC and not feeling like making the trek to LA, I'll probably choose this place for the pastrami craving. My husband and I got the triple decker #5. My Mom got the pastrami, and Dad got liver and onions (it's pretty good if you are into liver). Lemon marscapone cake and blueberry cheesecake...
There is just about nothing I can say about the glory that is Benji's that hasn't been probably said by many others already! A legitimate long-lasting landmark New York style attitude Jewish delicatessen you just really can't beat in Orange county. You can get almost any type of deli food you can think of as well as of course burgers and steaks and some true classic diner comfort food rarities ... The almost impossible to find open face hot roast beef brisket sandwich...
