1st time visitor, but walked past this place hundreds of time while shopping. Stopped in for lunch. Great sandwich and salad. I would go again and would recommend.

The food is excellent. The service is very good. You have a choice of sitting inside the restaurant or in the mall. My husband had the tuna sandwich with salad greens. They use a high quality tuna, not an oily fishy tasting one so the sandwich has really good flavor. I had the pesto chicken sandwich with salad greens. I like that the salad is an upscale salad with red lettuce and arugula, not just romaine lettuce. And of course the salads had croutons made with Boudin Bakery bread. They also offer soups and a wide variety of dessert items. And if course many types of freshly baked bread. Basically, they offer something for everyone!

Amazing! Got there right at opening, and was sat immediately. The Bread Bowl with that cla chowder is a must try. The sourdough was so soft and perfect. Added some crab to it too. Delicious.

I recently visited your restaurant for the first time, it was around 6:15 PM, and while the food was excellent, I unfortunately had a disappointing experience with one of your employees.
Due to my wife's support animal, we chose to dine outside. At the time, there was an employee on break on the patio. About 10–15 minutes later, a female server brought our food out. I politely said, “Thank you so much,” but was surprised by her sarcastic response: “Yeah, sure,” followed by her turning to the employee on break and saying, “After your break, make sure to close all the umbrellas—I don’t want people thinking it’s open for them to eat,” while looking back at us.
This interaction made us feel very unwelcome. I asked the employee on break about the patio hours, and he mentioned it typically closes around 7 PM. He even apologized for her behavior, which I appreciated.
Also, if pets were allowed inside, we would have gladly dined indoors.

This is one of the many businesses is going down soon. I ordered the clam chowder. The portion is so tiny and it comes in a bread bowl. Nothing but bread , and the taste is nothing extraordinary. I literally taste one small piece of clam. What a waste of money ( $11 for this ? ) 😡

Came in for clam chowder and their classic turkey sandwich on Saturday. Both were great as they have always been.
The major issue with this location (due to being located attached to a major mall) is the staff not clearing tables after guests have departed. Either management needs to make it clear customers should bus their own plates by having multiple drop-off locations or those hired to serve the dine-in customers need to be clearing those dirty vacated tables once they deliver a dine-in order (as only one example of when the clearing should be made.)

A slice of cheese 🧀 in two slices of toast with a snail chips for $9.29 !!! Flat taste and very greasy. Its not worth wasting your appetite. This branch has both inside and outside seating.
The description above is 6 years old. Boudin SF today looks and feels like what the pictures “from picture number 23 up” describe. The food taste has improved.

The food is delicious and Jasmine was very helpful and friendly when ordering my food. I appreciate it and will be returning. Also if you download the app you can get free loaf of bread with a purchase every month.

Love coming here for their sourdough bread bowl soup. I like getting the broccoli cheddar or tomato soup. But my brother loved the clam chowder. They have sandwiches too which you can choose to switch out bread. Substitutes and changes are convenient since you can order at a kiosk/screen. I recommend this but just be careful if you have a tough time biting into sourdough. It can be a bit thick and chewy.

Just wish the bread was toasted up. Otherwise it's delicious!

Service is friendly. The ambience is good and the restaurant is clean. The vegetarian sandwich was good but the butternut squash soup was watery. It appeared and tasted like juice than a soup. It was not like that before. Hope they address it.
