Boudin SF

Love coming here for their sourdough bread bowl soup. I like getting the broccoli cheddar or tomato soup. But my brother loved the clam chowder. They have sandwiches too which you can choose to switch out bread. Substitutes and changes are convenient since you can order at a kiosk/screen. I recommend this but just be careful if you have a tough time biting into sourdough. It can be a bit thick and chewy.

Just wish the bread was toasted up. Otherwise it's delicious!

Service is friendly. The ambience is good and the restaurant is clean. The vegetarian sandwich was good but the butternut squash soup was watery. It appeared and tasted like juice than a soup. It was not like that before. Hope they address it.

Clam Chowder is just ok. The sandwiches had mostly bread , not balanced . The manager was very rude to his employees. Went here around 7 on 2/14/25

Bad service, the person in charge of bringing the food to the table made us throw away our food

I picked up two 1.5 pound sourdough rounds and three 12 count sourdough Dinner rolls. Exquisite -- every bit as good as I remembered from yhe SFBay area branches (I was at the Huntington Beach branch).

This haul was all on to-go from the bakery, rather than from the restaurant part of the store -- hence my lack of experience with their situation down (the only reason I have a less than perfect rating for Boudin -- my lack of experience in this area).

Very disappointed in their delivery. I ordered dinner for my cousin who is with her daughter at Children’s Hospital Orange County. Whoever did the delivery placed the food on a random chair in the lobby and left without informing hospital security. She had to go and hunt down her food in the lobby, not what she should be doing with her child in the hospital. This restaurant definitely needs to retrain their staff in customer service and how to understand a situation and sometimes you have to do just a little more to make things right.

Got a personal pepperoni pizza, and a turkey cranberry sandwich to go. They were both amazing. The home baked cookies and jalapeño sourdough bread chip are awesome too. Love this place!

Turkey sandwich was good. Bread was a bit tough. The lam chowder was a bit thin. But the taste is great. The macaroni and cheese is good and the chicken sandwich was great. Service was friendly. Place is quiet and clean. Located in the mall. Plenty of parking

Go for the food, not for the service or cleanliness. Tables weren't clean and the gals working were less than hospitable. I felt like I was putting them out by showing up. I got the brie and apple grilled cheese and it was tasty. One thing that was very odd to me (maybe it's typical), it looked like someone was chopping up bread to make croutons, but left it for any guest to touch.
Seemed kind of icky. It was left unattended. Again, this could be standard, but it seemed gross to me.

Fantastic little restaurant definitely would call this a hidden gem of Santa Ana. The staff are amazing & super helpful food taste super delicious and fresh, although the pizza dough could be a bit thicker, but I think they only serve thin crust, which isn't a deal breaker for me I highly recommend this establishment and would definitely be coming back!
