One of my all time favored brunch places. I went here for years and then moved out of state. Visiting and it hasn't changed. Service is spot on, food is excellent. I love it. Please bring back the scotch eggs :)
Came for a snack and will be back. The place is quirky, like having a Japanese highball machine, and a Royal with Cheese on the menu iykyk.
I tried the Toki highball made using said Japanese highball machine and it was delightful. As were the bartenders and all the service!
Alas, the cheeseburger of my dreams will await my next visit. I tried the empanadas and my companion had the blackened shrimp tacos. We were both left with happily humming taste buds.
I enjoyed the music selection and show of tattoos and eclectic styles of staff and guests. Everyone was having a good time. Will return!
I really wanted this to be a good gastropub dining experience, but it was not. It started off promising, reservation made, showed up and seated right away. It started to go down hill with our server Jeanette. Her service was slow, not friendly, not attentive, after asking for additional drinks we had to ask for them again, she was most friendly when delivering the check. We started with the Duck fat fries and Brussel sprouts, the fries were good, not a fan of the sprouts as cooked flavor wise. Next was the food, the fried chicken/Waffle, chicken was over cooked, two Benedict dishes ordered, only a drizzle of Hollandaise over the eggs, but the eggs were cooked proper with runny yoke, the flavors were ok, but not delicious. The best main dish ordered was the breakfast burrito, very good. We ordered the Bread Pudding, they were out. We ordered the Souffle and Creme Brule, both very good. The total bill with drinks, not including tip, $180.00, for 4 people.
I ordered the steak and feta salad & my friend ordered the shrimp tacos. I asked if I could substitute the feta for blue cheese, and our server said “yes, that was entirely possible”. Our meals took a long while to come out though, but when they arrived, they were both delicious and plentiful! my friend said the shrimp was super juicy and not salty and my steak was grilled beautifully and complimented the pile of dresses greens it came with.
Great place to have a lot of fun and Amazing food
Fresh ingredients and amazing flavors in every bite.
Gabriel and Branson gave us the mother's day experience! We loved everything!
Chapter 1 is our favorite local restaurant in the Artist village. We eat there about once a week and really enjoy the food. Especially the wedge salad with the onion rings on top and the bacon wrapped meatloaf with mashed potatoes is fabulous. My husband always gets the margarita pizza with a beer . The staff is very friendly and always remembers what we like to drink . great music and a very hip feeling. Great vibe. Be sure to order the soufflé dessert ahead of time so it's ready at the end of the meal really wonderful.
It's absolutely an awesome place to eat!!! Our server was the absolute best!!! And the food was great!!!!! I almost divorced my wife to marry the chef!! The atmosphere and the vibe were pretty mellow!! I will definitely be a return customer!! I reccomend the Steak Frites with Duck fat fries!!
The Hearts of Palm tacos are wonderful. I wanted to try something new. Chapter One did not disappoint me. Their French fries are fried in Duck fat. That gave the fries their own delicious taste. Then sprinkled with salt and pepper.

This is definitely our go to restaurant in Santa Ana. The food is delicious, the drinks are amazing and the music is always on point! The staff is always so nice! I love that I can take my kid here from breakfast or lunch and my husband and I can come for date nights in the evening. This place just has a really nice atmosphere!
It’s been a minute since I last stopped by Chapter One, but I’m happy to report that it’s still as fantastic as ever. The same solid team is holding it down, serving up delicious gastro pub fare with the same heart and flair I remember.
I went with the steak and feta salad this time, and wow—just perfection. The steak was cooked and seasoned exactly right, with a beautiful char and tender bite, paired with just the right amount of dressing to bring everything together without overpowering the fresh greens or tangy feta.
And let’s talk about the Old Fashioned. Hands down, one of the tastiest I’ve had in a long while. Balanced, smooth, and dangerously easy to sip. #daydrinker
Whether you’re a regular or it’s been a while, Chapter One continues to deliver. Sorry for being a stranger, Ryan. I’ll be back soon JJ.
Wednesdays: Tubop jazz group. Over 100 yrs of Disneyland players in one guartet! Stellar group & a heckuva lot of fun! Add to that a menu far above the expected burger & fries - this chef is creative & talented. The service staff makes it all the more fun..you want to invite them to join you! ******
The BEST cheeseburger I've ever had. The service was great and the vibe was cool. Definitely going back. Oh did I mention the almost shoestring fabulous duck fat fries? So good.
Super fun place to watch Arsenal games if any gooners are in town or close by!!! Arsenal 3, Madrid ZERO. Will remember that forever.
