Disappointing Birthday Dinner at Darya RestaurantHey there,I hope this message finds you well. I wanted to share some feedback about my recent experience at Darya Restaurant, and unfortunately, it's not all sunshine and rainbows. My wife and I decided to celebrate her birthday at your place, expecting a memorable evening with good food and great company. However, things didn't quite turn out as planned. When our food arrived, it was a major letdown. The kababs were practically raw in the center, and the rice was as cold as ice, not to mention flavorless. Even the grilled tomatoes seemed like they missed the memo about being cooked properly. To top it off, there wasn't even a hint of an apology from your staff. And when the bill came, it was like a slap in the face—full charge for a meal that left us feeling disappointed and embarrassed in front of our guests.Sure, the atmosphere was nice, but it's hard to enjoy when the food falls so short. Honestly, based on this experience, I can't really recommend Darya to anyone.I hope you take this feedback constructively and use it to improve things at your restaurant. We'd love to see you turn things around and regain your reputation as a go-to spot for good food and good times. Thanks for listening.Best,

Celebrated brother and sisters birthdays. The chicken and beef kobideh are very good served with rice and grilled tomato, pepper, and onion. Had hummus and cucumber salad with pitas, and the combo is so good together.

One star is more than generous if you ask me. I'd give it a big fat zero if I could. It pains me to think of all the better ways I could've spent my money. Chicken kabob left a bad taste in my mouth. Sorry, but I won't be back.

As someone of Persian heritage who has enjoyed authentic Persian cuisine in Frankfurt but also in other Persian restaurants in California, I had high hopes for Darya Restaurant. Unfortunately, my experience left much to be desired. The prices were way to high for the quality of food we received, and the dishes did not resemble the flavors I know and love. The lamb shank was swimming in the broth, the chicken kabob was chewy, and the chicken stew was flavorless. Even the rice, a staple of Persian cuisine, was also tasteless. In Frankfurt and other Persian restaurants in the area, I’ve had Persian meals that were both more delicious and more affordable than what I experienced at Darya.Unfortunate I can’t recommend Darya to anyone seeking an authentic Persian dining experience, especially for those who have had the pleasure of enjoying Persian cuisine in other parts of the world.

Disappointing Meal at Darya Persian RestaurantI was excited to try Darya Persian Restaurant in Costa Mesa, but it was a letdown. As someone familiar with Persian food, the dishes didn't taste authentic. The kabobs, chicken stew, and lamb shank were not flavorful, and the prices were too high.People who don't know Persian food might think it's okay, but people who do will be disappointed. Darya needs to cook better or find a better chef. If they don't improve, people will stop going there because they want real Persian food.

Darya Persian Restaurant in Orange County offers a dining experience that is generally commendable, catering to those who appreciate authentic Persian cuisine. The highlight of my visit was undoubtedly the Barg and Chicken Kabob, both of which were cooked to perfection, offering a symphony of flavors that delighted the palate. However, it's worth noting that the Koobideh Kabob fell short of expectations. Traditionally known for its tenderness and juiciness, the Koobideh served during my visit was unfortunately not up to the mark in these aspects, and its taste diverged from the traditional flavor profile one would anticipate. Despite this, the overall experience at Darya Persian Restaurant was positive, making it a worthy destination for enthusiasts of Persian cuisine in Orange County.

Very fancy looking when your first walk in! And there’s a step and repeat in the front of the restaurant. Really feels like you’re somewhere fancy haha. There was some live music playing. It was gentle and not super noticeable. Just a guy with his guitar?! The waitress was super sweet. The food was great. Tried the borani appetizer which was eggplant ? but it didn’t even taste like it, which was great. I don’t like eggplant haha. The main plates are pretty big. I shared the naderi ??with a friend and it was more than enough for the both of us. Taste was great. I do wish there was a tiny bit more rice ? and tomato ? but the flavor is great regardless. A little pricy if you’re not splitting the food though. But I enjoyed the experience overall!

Nice environment. A more upscale panini kebab. I like the beef kebab more than the chicken kebab.
