We went there on a Sunday night when it was raining. We sat outside under the cover patio with the heaters. We were very comfortable. Enjoyed watching the sunset. We were there to celebrate a few April birthdays. The service was very good. The food was good. We had the prime rib. Yum! The staff was friendly. It is sad to see so many bad reviews. Watching the customers that were there, it looked like they were all having a good time. Yes, the restaurants can do a few improvements. Overall, it is good place to go grab dinner at. Especially at sunset. As mentioned before, handicap parking is at a lower level. We got there 10 mins before they opened. They did not have valet parking. Looking around it is a small parking lot. So, you can see why on their busier nights, they have to do valet parking.

I recently dined at Orange County Mining Company with a group of 16, and unfortunately, the experience left much to be desired. The furniture was in poor condition, which detracted from our enjoyment of the meal. The quality and portion sizes at the Salad bar have noticeably decreased. Additionally, the soups were lukewarm, and the coffee was not much better. While the service was decent, these issues significantly impacted our overall experience. As a result, I don't foresee returning anytime soon.

We had booked 9 people for my fathers 91st birthday (and had told them several times it's his birthday) the service was horrible- (the food was mostly good) when we got it on time and we didn't have to wait for it while other people had to wait for others so we could all eat together, waiting 20-30 min for sodas and such things. Then at end of dinner when tab came and they added 20% tip to the total- typically on large party they should add 15% then give the customer the option to add more if good service - no they went right to 20% then asked for more. VERY POOR TASTE ON THEIR PART. Dumb idea- sorry but we won't be coming back, and we will let people know how we were treated about this and tell them not to come. We had people from Arizona, Victorville and Dana point- word of advise when you spend $600 + don't screw people Also coffee was cold, cocktails were watered down and expensive

We've been coming to this restaurant for over 40 years. Just went last week too. Great ambiance, always delicious food, so glad a salad/soup bar is back, wonderful views. I'm really writing this review because of the AMAZING service we received from Keith, our server this evening. Keith was literally on top of every single thing and special request, he got everything exactly right, he checked on us just the right amount, refilled drinks and bread quickly, timed the main dishes perfectly so we weren't rushed, brought out extra items requested immediately, was so sweet when he brought out a birthday dessert, had our boxes and bags ready in an instant to bring home the leftovers. He provided us an upscale experience and literally didn't miss a beat and all with a smile and warmth. We eat out at restaurants a lot! And I would say Keith was truly one of the very best if not best servers we've ever had at a restaurant. If you can, be sure to ask for Keith's table!!

Great view when you get to the top! Definitely have to valet part and if you're handicap accessible make sure before you drive up the hill there is a sign for you to take a different path! There seems to be a lot of celebrations here. We were there when someone had a quince. But dress code range from fancy to casual. We came for a birthday celebration. We were seated outside and the views were quite fantastic. It does get cool and windy and they have a lot of heat lamps and that can get really warm though. They also have a small salad and soup buffet bar inside and you serve yourself. Good amount of options and pretty tasty. I ordered the shrimp and scallop with mashed potatoes which were amazing. The prime rib was a good serving and so tasty. The rice pilaf was actually pretty good as well. My bf loved the cheese bread which was interesting because it was literally sliced bread with cheese. Pretty hot so be careful! Service was great. Our hostess was quick and provided good recommendations and was not trying to up sale or anything like that. She also recommended their house wine and it was pretty good with the meal. Overall, cool place for a nice occasion and the price is reasonable! Would recommend!

I was under the impression that this was an upscale restaurant, but it is not. Everyone was dressed so casual, there was a little girl running around and broke a dish, & there was a guy blasting his Spanish music REALLY loud on his phone, no regard for those around him. Food was great though! I just wouldn't come here to celebrate a birthday or anniversary again. Definitely more like a regular dinner spot.

I went to their Sunday brunch and it was like $55 per person. NOT WORTH IT. The food options available were so basic that you can get anywhere for cheaper. It was bland and looked like it was made the day before and heated up the morning of the buffet brunch. I didn't even bother getting an omelette cause there was a long line . The only delicious thing was the carving station where they had beef being carved. Even the desserts looked like they were bought somehow else. They had donuts that looked like Yum Yum donuts lol The champagne was alright, you have to ask for more for them to refill, if not the server passes by and doesn't notice you need more champagne. I like that they give you juice on the side for it in case you want to make it a mimosa. The view from where I was sitting was beautiful. The restaurant was clean, the servers were friendly, plenty of parking spaces, but I will never go back again. Disappointed.

RUN AWAY. Came for Sunday Brunch. This has to be the filthiest restaurant in Orange County. The tables and high chairs were not properly cleaned. I was one of the first patrons to come that morning so the high chairs were dirty from at least the day before. Their sugar packet container was moldy. The level of filth is comparable to restaurants seen on Kitchen Nightmares.

I would not recommend it. We came here for Easter Sunday Buffet. The buffet was definitely overpriced for the quality of the food they'd served. The enchiladas were dried and tasteless. The eggs Benedict soggy and the ham had to been sandwich meat. The salmon had an aftertaste. It sat outside at room temperature for a while before it was cooked. I would not be coming again.

It's Easter Sunday. We booked the buffet weeks ago. We got there 15 minutes early. We were ushered to our table which was uncleaned. We had to wait on the staircase for 15 minutes while they tried to find someone to clean it. There was barely any food, no dessert. There were no plates. The bathrooms are unkempt. When they brought plates out, they were dirty. When they restocked the food finally, there was undercooked salmon. The prime rib is tasteless and the cook dropped the ham and still placed it on the table to cut. The managers, male and female, both obnoxious. The female manager tried to get my 8 and 10 year olds a hamburger so they would at least have something...it came out with fur on it and two pieces of hair. My guess is that the cooks did something to them in anger. They have ruined our Easter dinner! Not only will we not return but I will be posting this review publicly on all OC sites and calling the health department come morning.GO ELSEWHERE!

A lesson in mediocrity. The brunch service has delayed seating, and when you do sit down, your server is hard to wrangle. The food is certainly edible and some of it is decent, but take your health into your own hands because the buffet warns of food borne pathogens. There are also long lines for luke-warm dishes. I'm sure that if you like bottomless watered-down champagne drinks and a food experience that values quantity over quality, you'll have a decent time. For the rest of us, plan ahead and go up the hill.

The Orange County Mining Company is a kitschy fun time. The inside of the restaurant is a little old timey with pretty views. All entrees come with a salad bar experience and let me tell you - I love a salad bar situation. You can build your salad, choose from pre-made concoctions, and have yourself a little bowl of soup - based on my observations. I didn't actually get the full bar experience. I dined with my family on a Sunday night and they just kind of ran out of stuff i.e. ranch and that was that. Nothing was refilled, because I guess Sunday, but I'm sure it's great when it's fully stocked. At the table, you get a stack full of complimentary cheesebread. As for the entrees, they were good-ish. A little much sometimes and a little less sometimes. Just somewhere in between. I ordered the fresh petrale sole ($38). The sole is parmesan and panko crusted with lemon butter sauce + garlic mashed potatoes. This was good but nothing special. Someone in my party ordered the Huge One Pounder slow roasted prime rib ($45). For just $3 more dollars, you get a big ole hunk of meat, which I guess could be a good thing. To be honest, nothing particularly stood out. Overall it was fine for the experience, but the food and the vibe are a little lacking.
