⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Absolutely Fantastic Diner Experience

Pop’s Café (soon to be June’s Café) is a gem—and it’s within easy walking distance of the Superior Courthouse, which makes it a perfect lunch stop if you’re in the area.

The food is fresh, hot, and served in generous portions. I dined with a friend, and he said his BLT was excellent—fresh, crunchy lettuce and a surprisingly large, satisfying sandwich.

Service was outstanding. No fewer than three staff members checked on us throughout the meal, and our server Emily came by four separate times to make sure everything was perfect. That level of care is rare anywhere, let alone in a cozy diner.

The owners are in the process of transitioning the name back to June’s Café—June and her husband were the original owners, and they’ve returned this year to bring the place back to its roots. You can feel that sense of pride and warmth in everything they do.

One of the best diner experiences I’ve had in a long time. Highly recommended.

Ordered Spanish omelette and hash browns breakfast.

Hash browns were ok but the Omlette was one of the worst I have ever been served in my life. Basically ingredients not even fully cooked thrown under the egg with some cheese. I’ve had better in a school cafeteria especially for the price they were charging.

Update as it’s now the same day in the evening.
Pretty sure both my girlfriend and I both have food poisoning and we definitely didn’t eat anything else today that we think caused this.

Was coming from the A+ Bail Bonds office in Santa Ana. I grabbed a patty melt. Wasn't bad at all.

First time at June’s and not the last! We sat outside and the weather was as lovely as the service. Our server, Emily, knocked it out of the park with her prompt and kind manner. The new owners made sure we had everything we needed once the food was on the table—felt truly cared for. I got the Gourmet Delight Omelette and went to town on their fried zucchini. Will have to be back soon for some french toast I was eyeing across the table. Thank you for a memorable (and affordable!) morning.

June's Cafe is a true hidden gem tucked between the gentrified corners and the traditional soul of Santa Ana — and honestly, it captures the best of both worlds.

The deep-fried French toast is a must-try: crispy on the outside, soft and indulgent on the inside — basically dessert disguised as breakfast. I also had the avocado omelette, which was super fresh and flavorful, with the perfect balance of creamy and savory.

I’m obsessed with the decor — tons of vintage Americana and nostalgic touches that make it feel like you’ve stepped into a local time capsule. It’s cozy, unpretentious, and full of personality.

Only downside? Parking on Sundays can be rough, so come early or pack some patience.

Definitely worth the hunt. I’ll be back!

Got my burger order incorrect. You can't get a burger anywhere that can get the order right.

We’ve been twice and it has consistently been good, so I would recommend if you’re looking for a mom and pop style cafe near DTSA.

In-depth review:
- hamburger and fries at $12.50 is a fair price and taste as expected, and the country fried steak and eggs at around $15 is also decent. The Pop’s Country Breakfast (not pictured) was ok but too much gravy that was just ok tasting. Would not recommend the Grilled Chicken Melt (not pictured), it was horrible- very bland and basic, with cheese that was only barely melted and looked like Kraft singles. Pancakes are nice and fluffy and definitely worth trying.

- consistent good service

Price/Value: Par other similar diners, but cheaper than many others, so while expensive it’s just about better than the competition

Parking: Limited street parking only takes change or the app, I think free on Sundays? It’s not in too busy of a side street.
