No host/hostess. No menus, except my QR code. QR menu has no photos and is incomplete. I've eaten here many times. This is my last.

Found myself at John Wayne Airport a few weeks ago, and was pleasantly surprised to find they had a Ruby's Diner. Unfortunately, they were out of coffee and didn't sell ice-cream. I've never been to a diner before that was out of coffee and didn't sell ice-cream. Kind of like going to a bar and them being out of beer, or going to a bakery and them being out of pastries. Kind of weird. Anyways, I ordered a veggie burger and sweet potato fries, and they were delicious. And the service was very good. Maybe in a place like that, it's not cost effective to brew a fresh pot of coffee every hour, but maybe the should think about getting single serve coffee/tea machine for odd customers like me. Also, I think they should rethink their ice-cream policy. If they sold ice-cream there, I bet that would be the busiest place there. Not everyone's looking to have a full meal. There's probably a lot of people that would order a super sundae and a cup of coffee if it were on the menu, who might not otherwise stop by.
Great vibes and service, but the burger tasted like cardboard, zero flavor. Fries were ok.

Shout out to Tony Z (hope i spelled that right). Tony provided some of the best customer service I've ever had. They were incredibly friendly and very attentive -- anticipating all of my needs before I could even ask. The cocktails were also great :)
Good place to wait for an airplane
Slow service, terrible breakfast food.
The scrambled eggs were not scrambled well and tasted terrible.
The bacon was overcooked even though we asked for it to be soft.

Waited several minutes to find a seat. When I tried to sit with my family of seven, the cleaning guy told us to move to another table. There were none, so we tried to explain that to him. Not a helpful place or atmosphere. Eventually left to McDonalds.
Giving this place five stars just for Lily and the friendly, hardworking staff.
(Guys, it's an airport diner. Keep that in mind before writing a bad review!)
Each time I’m in John Wayne Airport and have attempted to eat at this establishment the staff urge customers not to stay & wait for a table. They are extremely quick to let you know they are short staffed, busy, and you will experience long wait times. While I appreciate the transparency, the frequency in this reminder makes you feel unwanted. Staff this place up, get them some help, or please let another establishment occupy this amazing airport real estate. It’s a shame.
Eggs with cheese were incredible. Fast service.
The most delicious one was the hot water. Maybe it was my fault to choose a wrong food, but I didn't like any of the items on the plate.
However, the Asian waitress was extremely kind.
Wheelchair accessibility: It was convenient to use the ramp.
