I’ve had this place a handful of times, as I am from out of state, and I was so disappointed when I got my order and realized how over baked the pizzas were. I called in a phone order at 8:15 and was advised to be there by 8:30 and unfortunately when we got home, we realized our pizzas were so over baked, that they even smelled like burnt bread and burnt pepperoni the second we opened the boxes. I was so excited to have this pizza as I don’t have anything like this back home but it was hard to even enjoy the pizza as every bite left a bitter, awful taste in our mouths. Normally, this pizza is good, but I can’t believe how inedible this was. The establishment didn’t seem busy at all, I’m surprised they didn’t just tell me that they would remake the pizzas as I would have happily waited and understood. The gentleman handed me the pizzas in a plastic bag so I wasn’t aware of how burnt they were, or I would have brought it to his attention. I’m so disappointed.

This pizza is a taste all its own. I'm a Detroiter. Cali's, like one review here, doesn't get it and is a hater.California, unless you've traveled to say Sicily (or Detroit)won't crave this thick , cheesey type of pizza. This is an old recipe loved by Detroiters, and many, from 2 pizza places , Buddy's and Cloverleaf bar. Old school. Love that I found you all the way out here.

Best pizza in So. Cal. Whenever I'm in the O.C I make it a point to stop in for a pie or two. If you like thick crust squares this is the place to go!

Steel Pan is a solid lunch spot! They make their pizzas relatively quickly (usually takes about 10-15 min), and their salads even faster. I often order their caprese salad, which comes with arugula, generous amounts of burrata, tomato, croutons, and dressing. It's refreshing and great if you're wanting a lighter meal. The pizza is a different story - it's hearty and filling, and you'll likely feel stuffed if you eat the whole pie in one sitting. The pizzas I've tried in order of my preference (fav to least): truffle mushroom; nuts and bolts; pepperoni; and margherita. (There's nothing wrong with the margherita... I think I just don't care for simple pizzas lol)The edges/crust are immensely crispy and buttery, and the cheese and toppings are usually heavy-handed so you get your money's worth. The only downside is the crust loses its integrity a bit toward the middle part of the pie where it's softer, which makes sense due to the moisture from the toppings.I wonder if this place would consider selling pizza by the slice because sometimes I just want one or two pieces, not the whole pie. Plus, I could see people balking at the price, especially if you compare the product to large chain pizza stores (which typically have lower quality food, but the value is kinda there, I guess). But I think this place is fairly priced, considering its location and quality. That said, I've ordered the fries here as well, and they're seasoned well. Unfortunately, however, I left the steaming hot bag of fries in my tote bag, and the steam made my fries soggy by the time I returned home :( Still, the flavor was there even if the texture was not. I recommend eating their food at the venue so your food stays fresh and crispy.

Initially got the truffle mushroom pizza and it was super bland & just didn't have any flavor. I debated exchanging it because I felt bad and had already ate a piece and a half. BUT I had to remind myself I paid $17 for a personal pizza so I better be able to eat it lol. Not sure if it was just an off one but I asked to exchange it for pepperoni which was soooooo much better 10/10. Highly recommended the pepperoni and chipotle ranch combo!

So there I was, standing at the gates of Steel Pan Pizza, ready to dive into the legendary Detroit Pizza I'd heard whispers about in the alleyways of the city. My belly rumbled with anticipation, but little did I know, I was about to face a doughy debacle of disastrous proportions.I placed my order, visions of cheese-laden glory dancing in my head. But as the pizza landed on my table, I realized this was no ordinary pizza saga. Oh no, this was a tale of charred crust and salted sorrow. With a heart full of hope, I took a bite, only to discover the crust had embraced the dark side, charring to a crisp like the remnants of a bonfire's wrath. The pepperoni, once a symbol of spicy joy, now resembled burnt discs of disillusionment. Now, onto the cheese, or should I say, the ghost of cheese? It was as if the cheese had made a swift exit, leaving behind a greasy residue as its only trace. Each slice was a slippery slope into a greasy abyss, ready to challenge the strongest of stomachs. But the salt, oh the salt! It was like a relentless sea storm battering against my taste buds, wave after salty wave, leaving them to cry out for a hint of mercy that never came.In a realm where even the frozen aisles of dollar stores offer a refuge of cheesy comfort, Steel Pan's pizza boldly ventured where no pizza should ever tread. This wasn't just a meal, it was a test of culinary endurance.Would I recommend Steel Pan Pizza? Well, if your taste buds have wronged you in a past life and you wish to exact revenge, by all means, march right in. Otherwise, you might want to steer clear of this salty soiree and seek pizza solace elsewhere. This was a dining drama that will haunt my cheesy dreams for nights to come.

I will preface by saying I'm not the biggest fan of deep dish pizza because it's so heavy and filling. I know this may not be super authentic? But what do I honestly know about that. I'm more of a New York style pizza person. This is inside the popular food hall called Rodeo 39. It's individual sized deep dish pizzas with good variety of flavors. Tried the bbq and Hawaiian style ones. They were both so good. Perfect crust crisp. Generous toppings. The sauce wasn't overwhelming. I wanted to eat more but I just couldn't so I had leftovers for the next day haha. I've tried quite a few things at rodeo and this is definitely one of the better options there!

I absolutely love this place. The service is great, the food is even better. All of their food here is delicious. Their pepperoni is my favorite, but also love the margarita. Their crust is out of this world. Food so hearty. Shout out to the young blonde lady. You're so kind! And then the cook, who is hustling back there. I saw you man (bald guy). You guys rock. Parking is a nightmare here, but don't let that deter you from one of the best pizza places in Orange County.

We visit Rodeo 39 often and this is by far one of the best pizza spots that I have ever been to! Their customer service is always consistent, which means good in my books! But the pizza...delicious! My kids would rather have this than anything else at Rodeo 39! If you've been here, there are lots to select from! I agree with them for sure! I had some on Sunday and I wanted to order more to take home for dinner lol we always get the pepperoni one but next time I'm going for the veggie pizza!! Thinking about this makes my mouth water! Haha! It's made fresh to order and comes out steaming hot! I like it because they don't go overboard on the tomato sauce and don't skip out on the cheese and pepperoni! Cheese pull every single time!!!

Let me get this out of the way first... I came here for pizza fries, and they no longer do pizza fries ?.After the shock and disappointment, we ordered out pizza. We thought it was a little pricey until we got home and realized that the size was deceptive. Each pizza was incredibly filling. We only ate 1/2 of each of our pizzas. It was slightly buttery throughout, not a single dry piece, but also wasn't overwhelmed with sauce. We got a bunch of dipping sauces - none were ranch.Parking was easy to find, even for a Friday night, and the wait for the food was minimal.Ultimately, the $60 price tag did feel worth it to us.
