They won't let you use the restroom without a purchase. Not very neighborly

I always love coffee bean. Great coffee, warm atmosphere, and quality service. This store is a good example.

Weird vibe at this location, employees kept to themselves, and the food was all but gone.

Donna, sadly she is the manager at this location. She is unfit to be a manager. Shame on the person who hire her.

As a first time customer, I liked the cold brewed coffee and the danish that I had. The service was polite and helpful.

I have been a long time loyal customer. Not only do I visit the stores at least twice a week but I order mighty leaf tea in bulk to include in gift bags every year.
Today, Sept 9th at approximately 2:25pm I visited the store located on main street in santa ana across from the main place mall. I ordered a large blended drink, jalapeno bagel and left a tip as normal.
Since it is 102° outside today I stayed in the store to eat the bagel. I asked for a cup of ice water. I was told it would cost me .25 cents. I didn't have any cash on me and had used my card to pay. So instead I was offered a little tiny paper cup to get a sip of water. This is outrageous. I will never again make another purchase of any kind from the coffee bean tea leaf company.

This particular location has never been my favorite. Parking can be somewhat difficult, with semi trucks making their morning deliveries in the same lot used for customer parking.
We were excited for pumpkin spice season and have been telling many people that TCB&TL was the best place to go for it. Well, I don't know if they changed some things in the past year or two, but the pumpkin spice chai had hardly any spice and tasted like I was drinking watered down straight pumpkin juice. Not the flavor I had been excitedly anticipating. They offered to remake it but I wasn't sure what to ask for to make it taste better and I didn't want another drink like it (I already had 2). They were good to swap out one drink to make a completely different one for a person in our party, but I didn't feel comfortable asking them to fix mine. I am willing to try another location before I abandon my claim that Coffee Bean has the best pumpkin spice drinks.

Parking: The parking lot is busy with delivery traffic mixed in with customer traffic. People tend to drive quickly past the store fronts which makes pulling out of the row of parking spaces opposite the stores a bit harrowing.

Would leave a negative review but honestly since they re-opened they have been very non-inclusive towards my doggy Zelda and I. Weird because twice in a row I have either been told or given the vibes that I wasn’t welcomed simply because I had my doggy here.

First scenario: This was in the AM/Afternoon. Shift lead or manager millennial head a$s lady adamantly asked if my doggy was a service animal and made me feel un-welcomed. Oddly enough she didn’t ask the same question to the lady that came in 20 minutes later with her pug. I finished my projects as fast as I could and got out before getting the most condescending “have a good day” from the same millennial lady that didn’t want me there.

Second scenario: Customer service was fantastic. If I didn’t know any better, I would’ve assumed this was the redemption arc of the story. He asked my doggy’s name and got friendly with her. I thought to myself “OK this could be different.”
I was wrong. It seemed like the shift lead for the night was coordinating that same gentleman (that was nice to my dog and I) to tell me that we can’t stay there. He changed vibes so quick. he had told me that my dog can’t stay here. I know this reasoning was from the shift lead for the night because she was giving me the cold me the cold shoulder as I looked at her… Anyway this place sucks……ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE POC (or DEI as they like to call us now).

I say this last part because the woman that brought her pug in and got a better treatment looked nothing like me.

White people, though, y’all are welcomed here like always in OC…have fun

Strange vibe. Coffee was okay, but I remember it being better. Ditto the food. Seating was rearranged; less inviting. Not at all busy, but staff seemed stressed. It's franchised chain, so it could be a turn over of management. Will probably not return.

Staff could be a bit more understanding of the needing to use the restroom. I don’t look like a tweaker who’s gonna get my fix in the restroom. ? aside from the restroom, the staff wasn’t bad AFTER you buy something
