Underrated, Johnny is a legend when it comes to Japanese cuisine. Presentation is immaculate, taste is magnificent. Can't praise this spot enough. Best sushi ever, and Chef Johnny has the track record to prove he's the best. He's owned multiple restaurants in Newport Beach and he brings all that flavor and experience to Santa Ana. Some of the worst sushi I have ever eaten in my life. The only redeeming quality is the owners are very nice. They put these crunchy crumbs on the sushi roll that tasted stale and inedible. Very disappointed
Came here last night. A large piece of bone or ceramic was in one of my sushi rolls. I almost cracked a tooth when I bit down. Never has this happened to me before. I spit out the food & pulled out the rock hard object & alerted the staff. The cook came to my table & said it was a hardened piece of crunchy flake from a roll. Newsflash, I didn’t eat or order any crunchy flake rolls, cook was trying to make up an excuse. Shame on them for allowing that to be in my food and then to not take accountability. The bathroom is also disgusting, they dilute the hand soap so much that you cannot wash your hands. Filthy. This place should be SHUT DOWN. They ask you to tip before you even get your food or receive any service.
