Ill make this as short as I can, I am a local business owner, & property manager, this past Saturday, I experienced a dismaying display of bar operation. I arrived at this bar in the evening to celebrate a friends birthday, all was fine until I had an upsetting interaction. To make it simple, I watched as a man inappropriately touched and shoved a girl hard off one of the podiums they have on their top floor...assault. I immediately found the closest security guard and politely informed him to which I was ignored (he smiled and walked away). I know a great deal of bar owners far and local, and was shocked to see this occurrence. So I decided to stand back and watch this particular security guard. For the entire two hours I was there, I noticed he was drunk, only talked and flirted with female patrons and didn't do an ounce of work. His name is Arman.

I've been to one dueling piano bar and had the best time so I was thrilled to find out SB has one too. This one was a bit smaller and took a bit longer to get going than the other one I visited but the pianists were amazing and super responsive to song requests. We shut the evening down with I want It That Way by the Backstreet Boys to my eternal delight. Unfortunately service wasn't great. Our waitress seemed to disappear at one point when we really wanted another round; we put in a reservation that didn't seem to be in their books when we showed up and I tried several of their cocktails to my tongue's disappointment. Feel like the alcohol to non-alcohol ratios were off. Luckily the ambiance was sufficient to carry us through the night!

employee was really drunk and put her hands on my friend. my friend bumped into some streamers on the way downstairs. this “employee”started to yell at my friend and grabbed her and pushed her down the stairs. she shoved my friend. we come her practically every weekend and we were so confused by this random woman. she was wearing a pink outfit and was being very mean. we then talked to the security and they were saying that she was 100% sober. SHE OBVIOUSLY WAS NOT. Do NOT hire employees who will be drunk on the job, and usher people out of the establishment for no reason. my friends and I will not becoming back here until this woman is fired/reprimanded

Employee touches and pushed my friends down the stairs for accidentally touching streamers. Employees are drunk and security guards do not protect customers, instead they say “I’m just a security guard I can’t do anything “. Are you serious? This place is gross, empty, and employees need to be reconsidered.

I've been wanting to come in here since I saw the ad for dueling pianos, and it did not disappoint! The servers were nice and the drinks were tasty, but the best part was the piano playing: such a fun variety and the pianists were really good sports about all the funny requests- Johnny Greco even went out of his way to play our random Led Zeppelin song! (Don't ask him to do it again though, it wasn't an easy feat, LOL) If you can get my husband to sing, you know it's been a good night. Will be recommending this every chance I get!One small note- the room is long and narrow, so lots of tables have to be off by the side. If the pianists were at the end of the long room, maybe more people would get a better sight line? There must be a reason the setup is funky, just seems like more people could have fit.

The duelling pianos were amazing and so much fun! If you enjoy live music and seeing musicians in their element, go here. The pianists played straight from 8-11. As a side note, the bar doesn’t serve food but will let you bring in your own.

So much fun! Definitely add this place to your list of things to do in SB. The pianists were amazing and the drinks were flowing. I loved how you could request songs and if the pianist knew it, they would play if for you. Lots of people, so make sure to come early so you can get a good spot.

Saludos

This place is a trip. On the bottom floor there is a dueling piano performance and on the top floor it's a full on club with DJs and twerking. Great drinks tho

Was told by a dear friend that they had the best nights of their lives in this bar. Was skeptical when I walked in and there were two people playing Mr. Brightside on the piano. However, they redeemed themselves with a quick bathroom line and the triple floors did not disappoint. Middle floor was nice to catch our breath and no line at the bar on a Saturday night. As soon as we walked into the third floor, I started to believe what my dear friend had told me. An oasis in the desert, DJ was pretty good, but security looked scary and sported a bulletproof vest. We all got RBVs, obviously, for $12 each. I often worry about the Western descent into fascism, but I digress. The drinks are flowing, the ladies look good, and the music is bumping. There was much pain out on State Street, but not in Backstage. Minus 1 star for trying to get us to pay a $10 cover when we left and came back. Did not have to pay earlier in the night

I absolutely loved this place. The dueling piano was great. We reserved our seats in advance but as the night grew older, more and more people flooded in and ruined our enjoyment by crowding around the performers. Staff cared little about the people actually tipping and requesting song, only the horde of holligans.Genuinely ruined the experience for me. Service and Quality took a major dump after that.

The biggest selling point for this bar is that it is three levels and spaced out well. We visited here both on an early night (9pm) and late night (1am) out. There weren't many people on the first and second floors but the third floor had the most. I think even if it were packed you would still have enough room to not feel squished. They have DJs playing a variety of music. The facilities could use an update. The floors are in rough shape, the tables and chairs are dated.

The pianists are amazingly talented! And so much fun. You might be brought to the front spontaneously. They are so wonderful! Guaranteed a good time.

Not sure how this place stays open only a few days of the week.Place needs a facelift. Beaten up, flooring needs replacing, a paint job this century would help.Servers were great and very nice, booze was okay. Walked in and the two middle aged white dudes with suspect voices started their set off with Cardi B's Wet A** P****?Wtf! Know your audience first off all. Second, that's a terrible dueling piano song. Sorry but don't want to hear two guys sing the song of a confessed hooker. It's nails on a chalk board not to mention a mood killer for the 30-40 year who are looking to hear familiar songs to sing along to. Not sure what management is doing or thinking here.
