Boathouse at Hendry's Beach

Great beach side restaurant. Friendly people and great bar. The bartenders were very friendly and had a variety of mixed drinks. There is indoor and outdoor seating. Food was good especially the wedge salad with shrimp. Reasonable prices on food and drinks. Plenty of parking. The only problem is the bathrooms, there is only 2 and line was always long.

Boathouse at Hendry’s Beach is a gorgeous venue in the hills outside of Santa Barbara. It had indoor & outdoor seating with beach views and a lovely sunset. The parking is tight so we had to park a bit away. The restaurant did not take reservations & was busy so we expected a long wait. We went to the bar to wait & before we could order a drink, our party of 4 got seated within 20 min. We went to Hendry’s for the seafood! The dishes were so creative & flavorful; it was difficult to choose between a bowl of shellfish in a spicy red sauce, clam linguine, sea bass or salmon with mash potatoes, or scallops over lobster/crab risotto. Everything, including the cocktails, were delicious. The wait staff was friendly. The whole meal was outstanding, but on the expensive side so our bill pushed over $200. Definitely an iconic Santa Barbara experience!

We regularly stop here for breakfast on our way north. You can't beat the location. The food is always good. The freshly squeezed OJ is worth it. And the service is always professional and friendly.

We typically go on a weekday so rarely do we have to wait for a table or have trouble with parking. Weekends are likely a different story.

What an experience! Ocean view while having dinner. The food was remarkable and the waiter was on it. We started with the calamari that was lightly battered and the dipping sauce was on point. Then we had the lobster truffle Mac and cheese. It was the best I ever had and highly recommend. They called it a starter, but it was full of Maine lobster! The wait was 30 minutes, but they had benches to sit on next to the beach and time flew by.
