Stopped in last night after a hike at the montecito hot springs. The delicious empanadas had us all coming back for seconds
Since I work remotely I decided to work even more remotely than usual and drove up the coast. This was my 2nd spot after leaving Ventura. It was a cold Monday night, and this was the liviest place on State St. The empanadas were on point and the happy hour Granache a good compliment.

Great empanadas, but confusing buying them, as a mixed marketplace. Nice seating, looking out over a courtyard.

Stopped here on our way up to Cal Poly since we are from New Jersey and my daughter loves the empanadas we get from restaurants at home. Since there aren’t any restaurants that have them by her, we were able to bring her two dozen different empanadas. The empanadas were out of this world. Definitely would recommend.
It’s my first time trying empanada and they were tasty and flavorful!
The coffee and food is amazing. The screaming rock and roll music in the morning is definitely driving people away. It’s quite intense. Maybe some Lofi or something inviting to start the day? Otherwise great staff and menu. Just a drum solo panic attack when you walk in.
Excellent empanadas for a great price. I especially like the hongos. And craft beer in the same building

“I’m literally depressed because I haven’t tried these sooner.” -My girlfriend.
How did I live here so long without knowing about this gem? They have a wide selection of tasty morsels and the prices aren't bad. We sat outside in the pleasant patio area and tried a variety of empanadas and every single one of them was delicious. The bad? There are three tiny parking spaces, and if they are taken you may have to circle the block a few times until a spot opens up on the busy street. That's it, my only complaint. It can be hard to find, and I'm good with that. If too many of you start showing up I may not be able to find a parking space.

Really great empanadas! Wish they came paired with some Quilmes, though.
Empanadas are pretty good, if they are heated correctly. The first day we went there, they were underheated and cheese was not even melted. The girl working the register is extremely rude! Such a poor attitude for no reason at all. Second day we went, empanadas were overheated and nearly burnt. In addition, the customer service was extremely poor again.

Empanadas are great. I usually order vegan empanadas. They are good. Just lost one order once. I just like veggie empanadas here. I feel the empanadas May be quite small but they are fine. But I have always done to go order.
Grab coffee at old town plus empanadas from Buena Onda. Guaranteed a good day or to turn an off day to an “on” day.
