This place has the best ambience to sit down and enjoy the coffee. The vibe is so cool. Coffee wasn’t the best but the interiors were the best I have been too.

I'm surprised it took me so long to become a regular at this place, considering I work at Paseo Nuevo. Their matcha is the best I've had at any coffee location, period [try it with salted pecan, trust me]. Also, the staff here is super friendly and makes me feel valued, which is why I continue showing up there.

Tonight I had a great coffee from the downtown location at Caje! They worked so hard and so fast considering it was the end of their shift and 7 at night on a Saturday and packed! Ashley and the other woman on shift were AMAZING! Made my “lunch” break at work great!

The matcha powder used is low quality and has no matcha aroma. The overall matcha latte was imbalanced as well. I would not recommend getting the matcha here although I can’t speak for the coffee.

$1.25 extra for oat milk. I’m sorry but I won’t be buying a beverage here. This is just a way to up charge 90% of customers who don’t want lactose. If you’re charging more for a latte just increase the price on the board. Don’t do this oat milk nonsense. I’m outraged.

Bad service.

Ordered a coffee and waited over 10 minutes!

In the meantime the three employees were chatting with a customer. After this person left they continued there chat with each other. Not even noticing me still waiting at the counter.

After I reminded them they poured my coffee in 10 seconds.

Very delicious coffee

Nice coffee shop right at the center of downtown Santa Barbara. Lavender late was too sweet for my liking, iced matcha was good. Not much pastry but they have bagels. I loved the cup 😍

Here’s the reason for three stars:
We ordered a lox and cream cheese bagel for a quick bite before we left Santa Barbara for home. Lox and cream cheese is a delicious classic bagel BUT this was neither classic nor delicious. First off, there was hardly any lox as you can see from my photo, and on my half I found one tiny piece of red onion. Beyond that and what ruined everything, is they put barbecue sauce on it. Salty fishy lox does not go well with any type of barbecue sauce, it was pretty gross. It was pricey at $14 but it’s Santa Barbara. That said, I definitely expected for there to be more lox.
On a final positive note, the actual bagel was very tasty!

I ordered a coffee with their house made almond milk, I wasn’t told there was cinnamon in the milk (maybe I didn’t see it on the menu). But personally I don’t like the taste in my coffee and I wouldn’t have ordered with almond milk had I known. It should be advertised on the menu.
