My favorite place to get dinner on State Street. They just know how to make the BEST food. As long as I can remember, my grandma was the first person to take me here so it's very special to me in many ways. Staff is always wonderful, thank you to the Carlitos staff!!
Carlitos Cafe y Cantina offers a lively and welcoming atmosphere with tasty Mexican dishes and friendly service. The outdoor seating area feels especially enjoyable and the location on State Street makes it perfect for people watching. The food is flavorful and the portions are generous. The whole place has a warm casual vibe that makes it easy to relax and enjoy a good meal.
Fantastic atmosphere, right across from the Arlington. A real treat of outside dining, especially at night. I've been going here for decades.
Food is lovely, if not a bit underseasoned for my taste. I have a hunch they're looking for broader appeal than your authentic, hole-in-the-wall Mexican joint. Still worth a visit if you've never been!
