Exceeding Expectations: A Perfect Wedding Celebration at Carr Winery
We recently hosted a family wedding celebration at Carr Winery, and the event truly exceeded all of our high expectations. Securing the entire winery for our private function created an extraordinary and intimate atmosphere, making it a highly recommended venue for any major celebration or corporate gathering in Santa Barbara.
The ambiance of the winery is remarkable. There was plenty of room, both indoors and outdoors, to comfortably host a large event, giving guests space to mingle and relax. The venue itself was well-appointed and absolutely spotless, providing an elegant yet relaxed backdrop for the evening.
The staff at Carr Winery were exceptional—outgoing, friendly, and incredibly efficient, ensuring the entire evening ran smoothly. The wine offerings were, of course, a highlight. Featuring all of Carr's excellent wines, the selection provided a fantastic variety of both white and red options that impressed all our guests.
For catering, we brought in the Lucca Pizza Truck, which was a phenomenal pairing. The pizza and salad options were outstanding, delivered quickly and efficiently, and they easily accommodated dietary needs, including excellent Gluten Free selections.
Overall, the combination of Carr Winery's beautiful setting, exceptional wines, and fantastic staff makes it a five-star venue. We would wholeheartedly recommend Carr Winery to anyone planning their next celebration!

Wines are a bit young and fruit forward for us. We always enjoyed the cellar raid. Great snacks and discounted aged wines. Their wines age very well. We always loved their 5 to 10 year old bottles.

We decided to do a Carr tasting because our friends have been members for years, the winery offers Cab Francs, which we love and believe are under appreciated, the tasting room looked cool in photos, and it was within walking distance of our hotel. The tasting room and tasting bar were even cooler in person and we enjoyed tasting the wines on the shaded patio, led by our excellent tasting guide, who was well-schooled in the wines on offer. We especially liked the Cab Franc and joined their Cab Franc Club. Of course this was no surprise to us because we’ve had their wines before, at our friends’ house. Terrible terrible service…or actually sorry, LACK OF SERVICE. Every table had complimentary snacks except us. We waited almost 20 mins in between our pours. We basically had to go up to the server to ask him for our next few pours for the tasting. As he poured, he blankly just stated the type of wine and nothing about it. The table next to us with the same server had to go up and get their menus. The other tables had such a nice, pleasant lady (Vanessa) serving them. We almost moved tables due to the service.
A little tip for Alberto - if you hate your job, don’t work in hospitality. It really shows.
