Had the tri tip sandwich and onion rings. The onion rings were amazing! We added au jus which was a win. Remote location but cool spot, highly recommend checking it out!

Arrived at the Tavern on a Monday at 3:00 and when inquiring were to go for lunch we were ever so politely told we go for a walk because they close at 3pm. We let them know their website says 3:30 and simply received an “oh,” and that we could get a drink at the bar. As pictured in the screen shot their website clearly states full service dinning 11:30-3:30 and google has the business hours recently updated 2 weeks ago.

Took a drive out today while visiting SB and was not disappointed! The drive was easy and gorgeous. The parking lot is small so you will probably have to park down the road. I went on a Saturday, you can just order the sandwich and chips immediately or get on the waitlist for the full menu. We decided to get on the waitlist and it was about a 45 minute wait. We ordered 2 Tri tip sandwiches with potato salad. YUM!!! I loved the au jus sauce and my husband loved the horseradish. The potato salad was decent but I was really blown away with the chili, phenomenal! Bring a deck of card and enjoy your wait!

If you are in the Santa Barbara area you must go to Cold Spring Tavern. It's tucked in the Los Padres National Forest and it was an old stagecoach stop along the San Marcos Pass. We had reservations (strongly recommend) for lunch and we were seated as soon as we arrived. There were five of us in our party and four of us ordered the tri tip sandwich and it was delicious. My husband got the trout and he said it was one of the best pieces of fish he has had. The cream of onion soup was also tasty. If you decide to go make a reservation and plan to spend some time walking the grounds. It's a beautiful place with great food.

Food was excellent. Parking was a bit difficult because it is popular but we figured it out. No complaints with service. It's super super cute there and really nice to go look around at the creek when it's flowing. Overall, very pleased
