Do not waste your time going to this restaurant. 1) terrible service 2) food looked mediocre We don't know what the food tastes like because it never came. Sat there for an hour before we nicely went in and asked about our order. We got a SNOBBY response from the waitstaff about "being patient." They then came out and apologized for "computer issues." The food was never sent to the kitchen. I don't care about mistakes being made- I do care when you are unkind and don't apologize. Sucks to sit there with a 10 month old for an hour and then walk away with empty stomachs. It is hard enough to get out of the house!! Do not go to this place as there are MANY other pleases in Santa Barbara that have polite and respectful staff.

We got excellent service tonight from Guillermo, who made an instant impression on us with his warm welcome, his service, and his thoughtful attendance to our needs. And the Ruben sandwich and onion rings hit the spot!! As longtime Goleta locals, we need to get back to Derf's more often. Nice outdoor patio, too!

Derf's was my hang out when working at the Shell station across the street. 40 years later, the station is gone, but Derf"s lives on with good food and great service!

Is service just not a thing in Santa Barbara? It took forever for them to take our order. Then waited long for our food. Then took forever to give us our checks. Food was okay nothing special, needed more flavor. Enchilada was okay but needed salt and seasons.

Derf's looks like a local cafe and bar that hasn't changed much in decades. Seating is both indoor and outdoor streetside deck. The service was prompt and friendly. Food was tasty. Very small off street parking area with scarce on street parking. It was a fun expereience.

We visit Derf's off and on and we enjoy the food but the service.... The waitress who works there is the least friendly and incredibly rude. Her behavior gives the restaurant a horrible brand and makes it the least inviting place to visit. Probably our last visit unfortunately...

First time here and we will be back. The Potatoe Skins were freshly made and we had the Fish and chips. The fish outer crust was perfectly done. Amazing food and awesome service. We were also able to watch the game while we ate.

Game day lunch. Chicken ceasar sandwich. Great flavor & I love the bread they use for their sandwiches.

Searched for a dog friendly restaurant off the freeway on a road trip and found this gem of a place. Server was the nicest, Food was tasty (loved the fries!) and patio was comfortable. Parking situation was a little funky but worked out for us since we went midday when there wasnt a lot of other diners.
