I lived in SB my whole life up until 4 years ago and have been going to edomasa for near 30 years now. The food is incredible!! Santa Barbara offers many other sushi restaurants but none come close to comparing to edomasa. They are mostly too expensive, not fresh, extremely packed with tourists, etc. Edomasa is the real deal when it comes to a locals spot with even the famous that live there frequenting (they skip the fancy frills for quality too )...
Edomasa will always...read full review

Edomasa Sushi Bar & Restaurant is a Japanese establishment known for its fresh, delicious local uni and fish. The menu offers a variety of dishes, such as the red bean ice cream, miso scallops appetizer, Anton special beef with potato salad appetizer, shrimp n octopus sunomo salad, clam miso soup, eel cucumber rolls, and chicken karaage. Customers have noted inconsistencies in the preparation of certain dishes, like the fried calamari and miso scallops appetizer.
Edomasa is great for dining in and pick up, and is open late. The Godzilla and Hip Hop rolls are favorites. Their sushi is always fresh. The staff are wonderful and always provide the best service with a smile. It's a great option for a late night bite. The food is excellent and makes for a great take out option as well. Parking is convenient with ample street parking available.
Customers have praised the authentic Japanese food, particularly the sushi rolls, which are on the bigger side, packed with flavor, and super yummy. The tofu Agedashi is also mentioned as the best in the area. The service is described as sweet, making customers feel at home. The portions are generous for the price, and the early dinner special for kids is a hit. Adults enjoy the Philadelphia and Mexican rolls, and sometimes splurge on the love boat. The mochi at the end is always a win, and customers are always greeted with smiles.
