Food quality was disappointing, though not bad. Quality of the Tuna (Atún sellado $32) was definitely below average (tough meat, very raw - Sushi like). Other dishes were lacking salt and spicyness in our view. Service was good. Tap water for free. Ambiente great and toilets very clean. For this price however the food quality should be better. Will not come back.

I recently enjoyed dining at Flor De Maiz Mexican Restaurant. The ambiance is simply delightful, with a warm and inviting decor. The views of the Santa Barbara Pier from the outdoor seating area are breathtaking, especially at sunset. The menu offers a fantastic variety of Mexican dishes made with fresh ingredients.
I tried their Enchiladas Criollo, and they were incredibly flavorful, with just the right amount of spice. For dessert, I ordered the "cornbread with ice cream topping" (I forgot the name of the dessert), and it was delicious.
The attentive and friendly service ensured everything we needed for a beautiful dining experience. Flor De Maiz is the perfect spot to enjoy a casual meal with friends or a romantic dinner with a view. I can't wait to return and try more of their enticing menu offerings!

Excellent food and service! We had chips and 2 types of salsas, the esquite corn appetizer, enchiladas criollas, enchiladas de mole negro, a side of black beans, churros filled with Nutella and had their café de olla! My husband said it was a "knock your socks off" type of meal. The hostess, and servers were so attentive and polite! We will definitely go back ,next time we visit Santa Barbara.

Excellent food, dog friendly sea-facing patio with heating, great cocktails, wonderful waitresses and quick service. They nailed every single thing I’d expect from a restaurant. We were so full we couldn’t try the desserts - they looked pretty good. Our waitress was very nice and had great suggestions, her being pretty was an added bonus.

The food is delicious, and their signature cocktail were amazing. The rib eye steak had a great taste. The tetela was amazing, definitely my favorite. Their green salsa for the chips was so addicting. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. The wait time, however, was long. We waited about 55 minutes to get a table.

The service is amazing, and the drinks are amazing! The food is amazing! They prepare the margaritas beside your table! It is a beautiful place. The food is authentic Mexican food. And the Pulpo dish is to die for. Their Black Mole is delicious. The ambiance is great a lively, and they have a great live violin player! When you are in Santa Barbara, go here!

This food was disappointing. Two of our party had enchiladas verde. The chicken was barely warm and not much sauce on top, so enchiladas were dry and room temperature.
The octopus tacos were terrible. The octopus is not cooked correctly or long enough, so the gelatinous outer layer had not been rendered off. The octopus was sauteed in a LOT of chili oil, so the tacos were a slimy, oily disgusting mess. There was corn sautéed with the octopus, which was not complimentary to the dish.
The server messed up one of the orders and was hesitant to remake as ordered. We asked to split the bill based on what was ordered. You would have thought we requested the server to draft the national budget with all the difficulty he had executing this simple task. In general, the staff from the front desk, to the bar, to our dinner table were disengaged and borderline rude (older hostess).
We've eaten here twice before during lunch and liked it, but we're not eager to return.

We spent a couple days in Santa Barbara and were looking for a lunch spot. We came upon Flor De Maiz and Javier, our waiter. I had Mole Negro and it was just as I remember it as a kid. Delicious! Javier was so good and attentive. It’s right across from the beach/pier and has a great view. Love the ambiance. I plan to go back again before we leave. It’s just that good!!!
