Grassini Family Vineyards

Beautiful location but extremely uninformative. I’ve went to plenty of different alcoholic tastings and this was so underwhelming. The employees felt like servers to me and not actually knowledgeable experts in the wines. I was left with commentary like “this wine is white. Smells like crème brûlée, refreshing notes” mini pours and then walking away and not telling any stories about the wine itself. It was awkward, and a bit embarrassing for my partner that picked this location for our 2 year anniversary. It’s such a beautiful location so i wish they truly knew more about the wines and would engage with us instead of small commentary and just pouring us up. Really sad about this.

UPDATE: Grassini reached out to me and apologized. They even went as far to invite us to the actual vineyard in Santa Ynez. This was very kind of them and it shows the integrity of the company. Based off the reviews, clearly my experience was a unique one and not the norm, so i truly believe they will investigate and strengthen their employees’ knowledge of the wines. Either way I'm super grateful and very excited to hear more about the Grassini family’s history, their wines, and wine culture period! Thank you so so much for fixing this for us Lauren :)

not only great wine, but the best service out there!! Nicole was so thoughtful, made us feel at home. I got the cabernet rose and cheese platter. perfect for summer.

Loved Grassini! Have the Chocolate Flight!

The vibe of the tasting room is outstanding, as was the service from the staff. Friendly, knowledgeable and they loved to answer questions about the wines. The company has a fascinating history, and the family care was evident not only in the tasting room but in the wines. Because, after all, great service can’t overcome bad wine. But these wines in the flight we chose were unexpected in their body but delicious in their taste and bouquet. A great experience!

While visiting SB with friends back in August 2024, we came across Grassini's beautiful downtown Santa Barbara tasting room tucked away in the El Paseo complex/Presidio neighborhood right off State Street. Although they also have outdoor tables, we opted for indoor seating which was delightful. We had the place to ourselves and the servers were so welcoming, knowledgeable and helpful in guiding us through the Estate Flight tasting. I enjoyed all the wines tasted, especially the Sauv Blanc!

It was a cozy tasting room experience with friends that I'd highly recommend! We look forward to a return trip here.

Wonderful setting. Surrounded by beautiful Spanish colonial architecture. A calm place to talk, enjoy food, and taste. Definitely recommend visiting them.

Night and day experience. We had been to Happy Canyon earlier in the day and left disappointed. We decided to do a quick tasting at Grassini. The wines here are by far some of the best out of Happy Canyon AVA. Avery and Jackie were the girls working that day, they took great care of us. The Cabernet Sauvignon was our favorite. Grassini is a bit on the pricier side but well worth it. The staff and environment is very enjoyable. Will always make stop while visiting Santa Barbara

The red blends were blasé at best. Not much beyond notes of tobacco and tannin. Whites were OK but not worth the price. Go to Au Bon Climat instead. It’s a block away

What a delightful place to taste wine. I have always liked the El Paseo and with several wineries to choose, I am glad I chose Grassini. It is elegant and comfortable and our server, MacKenna was pleasant and knowledgeable.
