Lilac Montecito

Fantastic! Canadian tourist …. Asked a random someone walking an expensive dog where they recommend for breakfast. This place was right across the street. Loved it. We had the salmon plate. Wonderful meal and service.

Absolutely the best gluten free meal i have ever had. So nice to have zero stomach issues after going out to eat without feeling deprived in any way! I think we had everything on the menu and it did not disappoint. Portions are generous and enough to share and save room for dessert!!!

Although I consider the cold black-and-white decor regrettable, I also consider this one of the best menus in Santa Barbara. Whether you're gluten free by choice or necessity, you will thoroughly enjoy the superb food and exquisite professional service here. Eat all the bread rolls! Try everything. I recommend sitting in the small patio.

I wanted to love Lilac. It's nicely decorated, has attentive service and decent ambiance...unfortunately the food was very mediocre. The quiche was soggy and it seemed microwaved, and the salad served with it was soggy and bland. My friend had the grilled cheese and it was disappointing too. Hope they improve as it's a nice location in Montecito. Great dog watching spot!!

Best gourmet gluten free restaurant I have ever been to. The food is superb, and indistinguishable from non- gluten free alternatives. The gluten free desserts are delicious, don't pass them up, and the wine list has some very good selections. Is heaven for someone with celiac disease.

I am Celiac and the experience was amazing because this is the first time ever dining at a gluten free upscale restaurant which is well appreciated. The food was as close as possible to regular dining and I can only hope that we find more restaurants opening in the future in other cities with similar options. Thanks to the operators on pursuing this venture and hope they do well because it is much appreciated.

This was our first experience at Lilac. It opened in Montecito about 7 months ago. The decor is stylish, modern and low key. The food was upscale, beautifully prepared and delicious. The server, Havah, thoughtful, knowledgeable, very responsive and constantly smiling -- indeed delightful. Maitre d' checked in on us twice to see that everything was going well. Lilac was an excellent experience that far exceeded expectations. We hope it continues to thrive and we will become regular patrons.

Cayla provided great service and the food& ambiance was great too.
Wonderful latte and French toast made this breakfast after walk on the beach with a friend a perfect one! Thank you Lilac!

The Yellowtail Crudo starter was amazing with the most unique mouthwatering sauce we've ever had, especially with their gluten-free muffin and one that is gluten and dairy-free. The crispy skin Salmon and butterflied Branzino had wonderful sauces and a couple of perfectly prepared veggies each. The strawberry cheesecake was large and tasty. We are definitely going back to try their other items.

Such a delicious gem in Montecito! I love that everything on the menu is gluten-free and absolutely delightful. I've dined at Lilac many times, and the dishes are consistently superb. The friendly hostess and the entire waitstaff always provide a warm and welcoming experience. Everyone is truly a lovely light!

Nice ambiance. Good food, nice pla e for brunch

Made reservations and arrived early + were seated. We are starting on a good note. We then watched another party after us get seated, greeted and served beverages. We still waited and were passed by other wait staff + IGNORED. Our waiter finally arrived and took our drink + meal order. Everything was ok and food and drink were exceptional. However, we then didn’t see our server for a bit and had to yell to get the hostess’ attention to ask her to get him. It’s such a small space so pretty sure she ignored us at first. To say the least, wait staff as ALOOF. Such a horrible experience from a service standpoint. If their service matched the food this place would be amazing. Would never ever recommend this spot unfortunately.

Our grilled cheese sandwiches were superb. Crispy delicious bread and ooey gooey cheese. Had a side of greens. The food is so very delicious and the atmosphere is tres chic!! Modern elegance in Montecito.
