A real French patisserie at the center of the picturesque Santa Barbara downtown. The place itself is nothing special, and the coffee is just ok, but the food and pastries are delicious! We had a chicken sandwich, breakfast sandwich and a slice of tiramisu, and everything was great. And, everything is gluten-free!

My friends surprised me and my fiance with the berry chocolate mousse cake for our engagement. It was so cute and delicious, and it wasn't until I read the sticker on the package that we realized it was gluten-free. It was probably one of the best cakes I've ever had. Overall, a delicious cake that I would recommend even to gluten tolerant people.

horrible service. i ordered a blueberry muffin and the person next to me ordered one a minute after. they had me pay for it and then told me they were all out and gave it to the person. this was after waiting in line for 20 minutes. the staff has absolutely no manners. if your looking for good gluten free food with good service save yourself some time and choose a different bakery.

they also do a horrible job at making accommodations. i ordered myself an omelet and told them i could not eat mushrooms and they gave me an omelet with mushrooms. then got annoyed and took another 20 minutes to make me a new one. and it was undercooked and smaller than the actual serving size.

This place is AMAZING! It was one of those places where you cannot believe it is gluten free so you keep asking if everything is Gluten free. Even my non-gluten free friends were extremely impressed. I have a wheat allergy so I asked them what kind of gluten free flour they use, and they do use a mix of potato and rice flours/Starches. They do have vegan options for those with other food intolerances. I’ll say, I had the best toasted ham and Swiss sandwich, on top of all the desserts. I’ve been in Santa Barbara for 2 days and I’ve already been there 3 times! The vibes of the bakery are also super cute. The atmosphere ties the whole experience together.

This place is almost like heaven to me. I hope to visit at least once a year for the rest of my life.

I recently visited Lilac Patisserie and, unfortunately, my experience didn’t live up to the reputation. The bakery itself is beautifully decorated, but the service felt rushed and inattentive, as though the staff didn’t have time for customer questions or concerns. I ordered a few items that looked amazing in the display case, but the quality didn’t match the presentation. The pastries were overly sweet and lacked the freshness I’d expect from a place with such high prices. I’d rather go to Albertsons and get the same thing for cheaper. Overall, it was a disappointing experience, and I don’t think I’ll be back anytime soon.

Vegetarian options: The rosemary olive gluten-free bread is my favourite, but I also love their lemon bars and blueberry lemon tarts.

I WISH I COULD GIVE THIS PLACE A NEGATIVE STAR! We went in wanting just a simple pastry and coffee. My boyfriend asked if the pumpkin muffin had any nuts as he is VERY allergic to them. The cashier affirmed him it did not. Thankfully we triple checked the muffin before he ate it but it had CHUCKS of walnuts. Very disappointed in the service and it is extremely dangerous for the community.

We went here twice for breakfast while in the area and among the four of us, sampled as much as we could. By far, the winner was the Eggs Royale (eggs benedict with smoked salmon) and the coffee cake was the pastry winner. The avocado toast is popular, but overrated and the thyme on it felt out of place. The waffle was a runner up winner. All around a great breakfast place if you have celiac.

Dietary restrictions: Dedicated gluten free. Most items have dairy.

Everything I ate was DELICIOUS!!!? As a celiac I recommend this place cuz the waffles are very good ? the chocolate chip cookie was good too, and I ordered a lemon cheesecake, I didn’t like that one very much, but everything else is mouthwatering. I only tried these, but they also sell muffins, various cakes, various omelette, and they have a breakfast menu, also there’s free water of course.

Dietary restrictions: The whole place is gluten free.

Best gluten free restaurant anywhere! Love to stop for breakfast, cupcakes and bread when I’m driving north up the coast.

Dietary restrictions: I am gluten free and dairy free too. I love the GF options, but wish there were more dairy free options.
