Delicious Mexican spot in Santa Barbara. Stopped by here for lunch on a Friday, and found street parking. You order at the counter and pay before being seated. They do have alcohol like beers and margaritas. I got jamaica and my boyfriend got the horchata - both drinks were pre-prepared and had no ice but were cold since they were refrigerated. I had a vegetarian salad while my boyfriend ordered the quesadilla with steak; my dad ordered the camarones a la Diablo while my mom ordered nachos with carnitas. Everything was high quality and so tasty - we left very full. I would especially recommend sharing the nachos with 2-3 people, because it’s quite large. There is a self-service salsa bar. Two single occupant restrooms available. Credit card accepted. It’s a casual vibe with friendly service and delicious food - this is a great spot to check out if you’re in Santa Barbara.

Best burrito I’ve ever had! And their salsa bar is phenomenal. I stop here specifically when driving through SB! ORDER AHEAD!

Los Agaves is hands down one of my favorite spots! The food is always bomb—fresh and full of flavor. The service? Next level. I never get treated this well anywhere else. Highly recommend!

This place is a must visit! Whether you’re local or traveling from out of town, it is delicious! The atmosphere is great and the staff is really wonderful! I got the chicken tacos and my husband got the chicken flautas and we were blown away by the meal! it’s such a nice place to enjoy a meal and we also really enjoyed the free chips and salsa and the salsa bar! We will absolutely be coming back!

We had a women's trip to Santa Barbara and some of us decided to eat here for a early dinner. When we entered we were told to sit anywhere and handed menus we were not told that we had to go to the counter and place our order. They worked out great that way everyone could order what they want and pay for their own meal. My daughter in law and I both ordered the combo with crispy taco, enchiladas and chile relleno. The taco was very good. The enchiladas we both did not like the enchilada sauce was not good at all. I did not like the chile relleno it had a freezer like taste. The rice was good and the beans were bland tasting no favor. I would order the tacos again if ever in the area and try something different.

The short: average tasting trying to be fancier Mexican food. Great portions if you're hungry and seems to be the spot for margaritas when there's concerts down the street. Kudos to the service team during super busy times.

2nd time here, after the 1st time during our extended stay in SB during COVID lockdown. The memories were better than the experience today. The caveat, there was a concert down the street that made this place PACKED starting 5pm. So they were rushed and frantic.

The food was good but not special, (especially compared to la super ricas handmade tortillas down the street). I ordered the combo plate with Chile relleno and vegetarian enchilada with salsa Verde. And if I hadn't been starving after a long day of hiking, hot springs and dog beaching the food would've probably been even less impressive. Chille relleno tasted chewy and soggy at the same time. Enchilada was better but had way too much cheese but also good amount of veggies. Their rice and beans are yum.

My mom ordered the shrimp taco plate and thought the tortilla was ok and shrimp fresh but was unimpressed with the food overall. She loved the salsa bar which she said she hasn't been able to find anywhere since COVID.

Also ordered the guac appetizer which was basic. Good for people who like just mashed avocados and salt with a bit of tomato and onion on top. Being from a household that makes guac basically as a pico de gallo with mashed avocados this style is not my cup of tea.

Service was pretty good. The cashier was nice to help advise my order and even let me change it when I noticed the combo option but could also tell he was a little annoyed. Service was fast and when you can catch their attention on a busy night, very prompt. They did well handling such a huge crowd.

Overall, I would've given this place a 4 during COVID but oddly has knocked down a bit on food since then. Would come back if hungry and want big portions with lots of salsas... And it's Wednesday and la super rica is closed.

Hope los agaves picks up the quality again!

Vegetarian options: Not the best for vegetarian options. Basically have vegetable filled burritos, mushroom tacos, and Chile relleno. And of course guac and salsa.

It's slightly better though than the more traditional taco places

Prices are a little high the food is well worth it. They short-rib tacos are so tasty and tender. They bring your food to your table. They serve tortilla chips with your plate. Salas bar and drink bar available. Plenty of seating inside and out. Drink refills are available. Parking is limited but plenty to park on the side streets. Highly recommend..
