Poor service, food was mediocre at best. If craving good Italian food, I'd go elsewhere.

Food was great, lobster risotto and short ribs were amazing. One star off is bc when we paid we found out that credit card surcharge — we didn’t see that on the menu nor did we get notified about it. it’s pretty sad that this is clearly a management failure. I’m sure a lot of customers felt kick into the gut when they were paying after a lovely experience. I would happily tip 20% but not with this. PS I didn’t even use credit card to pay and this is NOT a standard feature for restaurants in California.

I absolutely loved Mizza, I’m a local and used to come here all the time. I was flabbergasted when I went to pay and saw they’ve changed their policy to add a 3.5% fee just for using a credit card. The food is already expensive, and this kind of charge makes loyal customers feel nickel-and-dimed. Most restaurants build those costs into their prices rather than surprising people at checkout. It really left a bad taste in my mouth, which is a shame because I’ve always enjoyed the food and atmosphere here.

This restaurant was lovely. Kitchy live band played during dinner. Our server, Michael, was friendly, attentive, and offered spot on recommendations. The butternut squash ravioli was delicious as well as the cucumber gimlet and the pumpkin espresso martini. Give this place a try!

I am a big fan of spaghetti and meatballs. It’s a must every place I travel. I would say this place was a top 5 I’ve ever had. My wife said the pizza was as good as she’s ever had. We will be back next trip to Santa Barbra

We were visiting this location from Las Vegas on Sept. 28th, 2025, as walk up guests, during dinner time without a reservation. We were warmly greeted and offered a table inside or outside (our choice) by the hostess. We chose outside and were seated in Paige C' section (our server).
Service provided from Paige was welcoming, prompt, and attentive.
We ordered two cocktails (Kettle/Soda and a Tanqueary/Soda), and the black mussels for our appetizer. Paige was sincerely interested in our parties back and forth concerns and questions and resolved any questions honestly and if she didnt have the answer she went back to the kitchen and asked for clarification and promptly came back with an answer. She did not seem irritated or bothered.
We ordered Lobster Risotto, Braised Short Ribs, Filet (medium rare- more rare than medium), broccolinni, carrots, and mash potatoes for our split entrée and sides. The food came out hot, quicker than expected, and was 100% accurate. Our experience significantly outperformed our expectation.
Paige C., if you're reading this, THANK YOU AGAIN. You have a quality about you that can be a model example for service employees of what to do even when faced with difficulties. Great job.
Chef, you and your kitchen staff executed our order/experience beyond any other experience I have had that can be compared to my recent visit to Mizza. We had such an amazing dinner. Thank you and your staff.

Nice spot on State Street. Food and service is great. We orderes shrimp, carpaccio and octopus. All of them was delicious. A bottle of peroni beer made me relaxed. Prices are reasonable. If you are hungry and tired of walking, take a step in and enjoy Italian food.

Stopped in wanting some good California artisan pizza and found it here. We started with an appetizer of shrimp in a garlic and hot chile sauce that was spicy and tasty, accompanied by delicious ciabatta toast. We ordered two pizzas as main courses, one a pepperoni the other a ham, artichoke and black olive, both came out bubbling hot from their oven with tasty fresh ingredients and a crispy, not too thin crust that could hold the toppings and sauce well and a nice flavor to it. The service here was friendly, professional and efficient.
