Got the al pastor burrito and chips and guac while in Santa Barbara a few weeks ago and both were great flavor and texture wise. I liked the (seitan?) al pastor in the burrito.

Unreal. The food was so good, I am obsessed. I live 6 hours away and I might drive here again next weekend. Do not skip. šŸ˜šŸ˜šŸ˜ Updated from previous review on 2025-12-29

Rascal’s did not disappoint—they earned their 5-star review—and you don’t have to be a vegan to love it. Santa Barbara’s finest dining locales extend beyond State Street! This was our first visit to Rascalā€s and we arrived just minutes before closing—both the owner and employees couldn’t have been more gracious, welcoming and thankful for our business.
Now for the food: It’s absolutely exceptional. Everything is so fresh and delicious tasting. The bean tostada is the best I’ve ever had. Masa made from heirloom Mexican corn??! Yep. Apparently it makes a huge difference because this place has the Midas Touch in the kitchen. Loved the oyster mushroom tostada also and that delicious looking and tasting crispy flour shell thing filled with beans, etc. Absolutely the best tasting (and textured) tacos, tostadas and all things Mexican we’ve ever tasted. Owner said Kourtney Kardashian came in last week which certainly underscores the growing momentum of Rascal’s culinary reputation and bodes extremely well for future business success. I predict there’ll soon be a long line of hungry customers extending down the street for this absolutely delicious, authentic and reasonably priced Mexican cuisine. We can’t wait to return to Rascal’s!

Food is awesome! Service is good, the only thing is they are busy so a little slow but expected.

We got the crunch wrap, sopes, and Fritas,. All the food was on point! We also got churros. Overall great food and a must stop for vegans / vegetarians alike!

I tried the Crunchwrap, the torta and the agua fresca.

The crunchwrap was good, had some decent flavor and didn’t turn into a hot mess until about halfway through

The torta was a bit unimpressive and the agua fresca was just okay.

Will try again some day

Nothing much to write home about. The tacos were not very flavorful. The salsas were good though

I called in a rush since I didn’t know they closed at 2pm and when I went to pick up my order, the guy with the tattoos was superficial and the stereotypical California ā€œfake niceā€ to me. My coworker noticed too even though I didn’t do anything rude to him. Food was meh

Had to support the only all vegan restaurant while visiting Santa Barbara. Pricey but at least the portions are large. Had the crunchwrap. Cashew cream sauce on point! It was really tasty but the second half fell apart when I picked it up. Cute place. Wish I had sat on the back patio (sunny day) because it was freezing inside, but didn’t see it until I walked to the restroom.

Passing through and found this on accident. What a gem! Accessible and simple menu - options for everyone that just happen to be vegan. The crunchwraps were a huge hit. The house-made hot sauce is a must if you're into a little kick. Friendly, attentive staff. Will be back anytime we're in the area.

Pros:
French toast was good.
Nobody was rude
It's vegan (could be con for some, this obviously wouldn't be the restaurant for you)
Water ready to go

Cons:
Sticky tables
Service was absolutely trash
Understaffed
Food was just edible. Aside from the French toast, which was good.

I stopped in to Rascals on a day trip in Santa Barbara and it was delicious! Everything is a little bit pricey but it filled me up. I got the burrito bowl with Al Pastor. There were a number of filling options to choose from so it was hard to decide! The bowl came quickly and tasted great! The restaurant is on a street next to a brewery, a juice place, and a chocolate factory so lots to see. Parking is a bit challenging.
