This was a disappointing experience. The place wasn't crowded, but the service was so slow and unfriendly. There seemed to be only one person serving as host, server, and bartender. We ordered the crab cakes as a starter, but they arrived after our halibut entree. We also had to ask for sharing plates and for our bill. Even after asking, it took a very long time for him to bring it. The food was delicious, but the service was so poor I'm not sure I'd go back. They need more staff and training.
The ambience at Roy's is really unique and wonderful. The food was fresh and tasty. The band that played was incredible but not too loud. It was overall wonderful place to enjoy a relaxing evening in a very unique environment.
What a gem! This eclectic restaurant with an east-coast vibe (leather banquettes, original art on the walls for sale, casual ambiance) has excellent food (I love their fresh honey wheat bread) sometimes has delightful live music, and always has a cool vibe.
Definitely a locals only place. We felt invisible. Slow, cold service. Food was pretty good.

Everyone was exceptionally nice and helpful. It was our first time, and it was Christmas day and they were exceptionally busy. Loved our Halibut! We will return again when it is less hectic.
Food was amazing. Our server was the best. I had to deduct a few stars because the hostess was rude. I made a reservation for a booth. She explained they were already reserved and on OpenTable it's not guaranteed. Odd. She made it worked, but then she rushed us in the middle of dessert.
Great service. The restaurant owner is super nice and very welcoming. We visited late at night and truly appreciated the warm welcome and excellent service from our the server. We ordered salad , steak , meatball dish and desert.

There's only one Roy and only one Roy's. Friendly, festive, yummy and warm. Nothing like it in SB.
Rhonda is the best server ever. She made the night so special for us and we loved every minute of her presence.

The best ravioli ever! I think Roy makes his pasta by hand, but not certain. It was unbelievable.
They were out of 3 entrees disappointing then Made more of one and we still couldn't get any
One of my favorite restaurants in Santa Barbara. Owner can often be found cooking in the kitchen. Best soups ever! If you can get the carrot soup do not miss it. Open late!

An absolute hidden gem!! They’re open late night (most places aren’t) and are an Amazing place for dinner and / or drinks. I was blown away by how delicious the fish and crab cakes were. What a delight to get such a high end late night dinner. The bartender was so sweet too ❤️

What a find...Roy's has been in SB forever and I am coming very late to the party.
Food was delicious and our server/bartender was funny and attentive.
It was slow that nite but was told it was unusual. Enjoy...I'll definitely be back!
