The best ravioli ever! I think Roy makes his pasta by hand, but not certain. It was unbelievable.

One of my favorite restaurants in Santa Barbara. Owner can often be found cooking in the kitchen. Best soups ever! If you can get the carrot soup do not miss it. Open late!

An absolute hidden gem!! They’re open late night (most places aren’t) and are an Amazing place for dinner and / or drinks. I was blown away by how delicious the fish and crab cakes were. What a delight to get such a high end late night dinner. The bartender was so sweet too ❤️

What a find...Roy's has been in SB forever and I am coming very late to the party.
Food was delicious and our server/bartender was funny and attentive.
It was slow that nite but was told it was unusual. Enjoy...I'll definitely be back!

Overall, it is a pleasant establishment to visit. It could benefit from some improvements, as the food quality is excellent, but the service and atmosphere did not quite meet my expectations.

Place was completely dead, there was about 5 people inside already eating, i order over the phone and still had to wait another 20-30 min after i got there. I tried paying right when i got there but the server didnt even know how much to charge me cuz i added chiken to my plate?
I order the carbonara with chiken, at some point i didnt know if i was eating pasta or just grill onions, they charge me $15 just to add chiken to my plate which ive never heard of before. Im not the one to ever leave reviews, i love food and eating out, but this was prop the worse food for the price ive ever had in town.

We made a reservation for 6:30 and when we arrived the place was nearly empty but we were put in a table/bench seat near the front of the restaurant. No sunshades on the front windows, and I was sitting in the hot sun for the fist hour. Our food order took forever to arrive and when it did, the fish and chips my wife ordered was overcooked and dry. Nearly sent it back but she didn't want to be "that" person. We wanted to order a bottle of Carr wine with dinner as we know the family but our waiter argued with us that we couldn't order a bottle because it was by the glass only. I asked the bartender to help out and she was happy to offer the bottle at the price of 4 glasses, that was fine. Again it took forever to get the wine. We finished dinner as the late crowd was filling in and it became very uncomfortable at the table we were seated - people bumping into us and getting very loud right in our faces. We kept looking for our waiter to return with our check, but nothing for at least another 30 minutes. I finally went up to him after trying to catch his eye for a long time, and as we were paying, he came back to ask us to leave because the next party was waiting for the table! Unbelievable - ruder and inconsiderate! Especially after waiting forever to get our check I was not pleased.

Everything was delicious as always. I had the chicken marsala they are known for, and the sautéed veggies were great. My dad had the crusted halibut, and it was cooked perfectly.

Local legend, live music and amazing homemade food. Great service and drinks. Sometimes they are all out of meat balls... I made due and had a steak.

I love the place , most food good but fish and chips should come off the menu. I was severely disappointed as the halibut fish and chips dish was scorched. It was cremated. I might have said something as soon as I saw how charred it was from the deep fry. Insert sad face here. I never go out and this was a date night :(

I had the halibut. It was delicious. The service seemed like we had a new waiter. Not overly competent but trying hard. Everyone has to start somewhere. The music was fabulous. We had a great time.

Our Roy experience was a mixed bag. We did not love the food. We may not return for that reason. However, the restaurant seems to be very popular with locals and it was packed for the live music. There appears to be a whole bar scene which looks very inviting. Our server was very slow, but to be fair, the restaurant appeared to be short staffed, which I blame on management and not the staff. We will probably give Roy's another chance.
