I have been going to this place (De La vina) for getting coffee and studying. You know starbuck coffee is usually consistent at any location. But I was disappointed today. I oredered cold brew with extra cream foam. The foam just disappeared 3mins even though I did not shake or mix it haha. The girl who worked there and made my coffee today made a mistake last time as well. She made hot coffee instead of iced coffee and she just poured the hot coffee into just iced cup to fix when my husband claimed it. If you are a barista, you wouldn't agree with decision. Anyway, I won't go to the location anymore. They need to train the employees more adequently

Had an unpleasant experience. When I received my order, I found a blonde hair in my drink. This was extremely off putting but was not shocking because a few of the employees did not have their hair tied back. I hope the team takes better care in the future to ensure this doesn't happen to other customers.
Great experience with the exception of 9 dollars for a cup of coffee.. tf 🤷🤣

Gotta keep adding things to this, there's no way 4 shots with ice barely fills the bottom of the cup. I think I'm done with all Starbucks altogether, it's not just this store. I spoke to another store and found out the training at the company has gone way downhill. I worked at a super busy store when I was a barista, I hear lots of excuses these days but the prices keep going up. I guess I'm the problem so I'll just leave and everyone can enjoy lower standards. I'm lowering another star because for the second time in the same day you pay for white chocolate and get bitter coffee and poorly stirred. They all say my drink isn't hard, well then why does it seem to be such a struggle? If you don't stir chocolate sauces before adding ice what you get is a bitter cold shot that then has to be mixed and if it's just 3 shots then one sip of a $5 drink doesn't taste good. I was a barista, I know how easy it is to mix in syrup and sauces. Hadn't had a problem at this store until now but it's a company wide problem . Everyone says my drink is very easy but yet again, it trips up people. Three shots, white chocolate, add ice. That's it. But it comes out like a layered bitter shot with syrup on bottom. I say something and I get back "yeah, well I had to out the white chocolate on the bottom". Yeah, no crap, that's how you make it, now stir it please. I always have to feel rude and condescending Everytime I have to ask someone to stir because yeah, it's kinda simple. So what do I do? Ask to remake and make it more awkward, ask to stir and frustrated the service members, or just quietly pay $5 and tip for a drink I don't like the taste of?
This morning, the service at Starbucks at State/De la Vina Streets was very disappointing. I've always been pleased with the pleasant, efficient service of the baristas, but today there was no welcome and very slow service. Worse, the woman with a tiara (NOT a princess in any way), rude, and unhelpful. The manager had to check her pending orders because after my questioning if she had my order, she just said no (long after I'd ordered and waited), and he found that she did have it. He went ahead and made my small latte (a quick, easy order unlike the frappucinos and fancy drinks). I've been coming to this store because the service and baristas were good, although the store design is now uninviting, basically saying "just get your drink and GO!" If the poor customer service continues at this location (manager, take note and assess the attitude of the people you hire), I'll be going elsewhere.

My favorite Starbucks in all of CA, the staff there were absolutely amazing. The shift manager Alanis had the store sparkling clean and running like a well oiled machine.

Good lighting, lots of space, comfortable outdoor area. It’s exactly what you would expect from a chain coffee shop. Plenty of people quietly tapping away at laptops. The single stall bathrooms are clean and locked with a code. Years ago when this was a Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf the Santa Barbara Go Club met here weekly. They may still do so.
This location is relatively new (it used to be a coffee bean and tea leaf). Clean interior with very limited seating, no tables. Two areas outside for seating: tables out front near the parking lot, and one end of the building with some umbrellas and what used to be a fire pit is now a planter. This location is on the cleaner side compared to many of the other locations downtown.
Parking: This is a triangular shaped lot with limited parking and two entrances; one on State Street and one on De La Vina. If it’s busy at all you may have trouble finding parking.
