I've spent THOUSANDS of dollars at Starbucks over the years. Girl at counter refused to let me use the restroom unless I bought something. How bout I'll buy something if you let me use the restroom first!?! Starbucks has become so cold and impersonal. Stale. Sterile. Overpriced and corporate. It's no longer a welcoming place. Five thumbs down.

All the chairs and tables were taken out and replaced with church style pew, very uncomfortable ? not a place to hang out with your laptop ? and sip coffee ā
Re:3957 State Street location Just another corporate caffeine hole, with weird seating. No tables, but plenty of chairs ā that all face the same direction ...??? ! Super strange. BUT ... and this is majorāthe seats have outlets!!!
Holy cow, a Starbucks with outlets. So rare, I hardly go to Starbucks for this reason.
Laptop batteries get old. And if you're a passionate writer, visual artist, blogger, or podcaster, or even a student with noisy roommates - we all need to get out for a cuppa, and to plug in after the old laptop battery drizzles away. Mine tanks after an hour. And when I'm traveling I need to stop for coffee ...
It drives me full on barmy when there's nothing but useless Starbucks around, with dumb hours, open when I'm sleeping, and closing before sunset. As I said, most Starbucks have gone downhill.
But not this nice little Starbucks tucked away in a shopping center with plenty of parking, nice barristas, and for the love of a great creative session... the working outlets. And they stay open somewhat later than bedtime for butterfliesā9pm most nights.
Glory hallelujah. An almost real coffee shop floats in Santa Barbara above a sea of vacuous corporate inanity that has pockmarked the coffee brewing landscape with cookie cutter nothing burgers that pose for legit coffee shops.
Super sweet.

New design is so medicinal I feel like I'm in a hospital. Starbucks also continues the trend of eliminating or reducing number of bathrooms - like they need to cut costs

Good little store to get your coffee and not be second class citizen to the drive through divas but boy did I get a grumpy bunch this morning
Our drinks were not made well, waste of $17.

Please be kind to service workers. (I mean, try to be kind to everyone. But the working class should stick together.) Five stars because you are service workers and I care. Letās support each other.

honestly, this place is great to come and study. only giving it 1 star because when I went in to study today a barista was rude to a family. they obviously didnāt speak english well and didnāt understand that their drinks were ready at the bar. another barista tried to explain that their drinks were ready but I think that their hand gestures confused them so they didnāt pick them up. i understand itās taking up space and it was the 3rd time calling their name but the barista had such an attitude. there was an obvious language barrier and couldāve been handled differently. a customer translated before I could what they needed to do and the family went on their way. obviously by the tone of voice that the barista was talking caused confusion to the family and was extremely unnecessary. they need to do better and respond appropriately. there was no need for him to get SO upset, they couldāve explained it again. please, reevaluate. thank you.
