This place gets INCREDIBLY CROWDED during rush hour with lines reaching the door. Ordering online took about 30 minutes and picking it up took a good chunk of time because the staff was so busy on other customers. There's another subway location in the Ucen just 5 mins walk away which doesn't get as crowded. I recommend that instead during rush hours.

There was 2 people in front of me and I waited at least 15 minutes for my sandwich to be made. The staff move like snails and forget things you tell them. They also let someone cut me in line because they had a mobile order that wasn’t made on time. My sandwich sat on the counter for over 10 minutes after being toasted that by the time I got it it was no longer warm. The worker gave me a free cookie because I had waited for so long, so they get a star for that. Definitely the slowest Subway I have ever been to.

Felipe at the Subway in the arbor at UCSB is amazing. Every time he makes my sandwich he does it exactly how I like with a smile on his face. He always makes the energy feel so good and I look forward to getting my sandwich everyday because of his awesome customer service!!

SHOCKING HORRIBLE HORRIBLE service! I will go visit and give my 2 cents! My 11 year old son was so excited to go on a field trip with his summer camp to the UCEN. He even has already decided he wants to go to UCSB. I went to UCSB. We love the UCEN businesses. This kid could have purchased a dessert, toys, candy - BUT HE REALLY WANTED A SANDWICH. Why this place gets a 1 star and if I could give them negative stars I would: The employee asks what kind of bread. Normal question. My son asks: "What kind of bread do you have?" Rolling her eyes and frustrated the lady tells my son to go to the back of the line, points up at the board and tells him to figure it out. He is frozen. Scared. He is dyslexic and has an IEP at school due to his severe difficulty with reading & writing. After she is done helping the entire row of people, which I can understand if it was rush hour-fine. He finally decides and is able to come up with the bread-when she gets to the type of cheese, he again asks scared what kind of cheese they had. Instead of the lady naming a couple, she AGAIN made my son go to the back of the line and read the list of cheeses! WHAT IS THIS??!! BE KIND! What kind of customer service is this? This is an 11 yr old boy that can hardly read? I am so disgusted by this business. My son said he was so sad he didn't even want the sandwich anymore, but felt bad so he continued with the purchase. He should never feel this way. I am disgusted that this business made him feel this way. I hope that they learn some manners and treat others with respect. Businesses with no heart should not be allowed here.
Subs and salads. Ok during the normal school year. Avoid during breaks between quarters. Staff are so used to heavy food traffic that when it’s quiet they leave the food out too long.

I've found that the hours here are inconsistent, it's only open part of the year, and the line is always pretty long.

Avoid this particular subway like the plague, because here, you'll actually get it. The one in the UCen is totally fine.
