The Anchor Rose was the venue chosen for my son's wedding dinner on February 7, 2025.
Perhaps this is a nice choice for smaller parties, but for our party of 43 it failed to meet my expectations. Our window of time was from 4 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. I had family fly in from Hawaii with small children and my 95 year old mother.
I do not think that there was enough/adequate help. Dinner was not served until 6:45 p.m., champagne bought out for wedding toast was not smoothly done or in a timely manner, and the same held true for dinner. One guest was completely forgotten and had to wait for a dinner to be made.
The view on the outside patio is a ten, yet they did not have enough patio heaters to service the eight tables that we occupied. Granted the weather is out of our control, yet if dinner went on as scheduled this perhaps would not have been an
issue.
The most disappointing part of this very special occasion was the fact that my mother and granddaughters were not able to stay for the entire event due to the unexpected time delay. There was a reason for the early start time which unfortunately was not met.

Visited on New Year’s Day. Half of the restaurant was closed and the other half only half full. No wait for a table. And after sitting here for 30 minutes without our appetizer coming out… it is clear why the place is empty.

Just left after waiting 25 minutes of being ignored in a mostly empty restaurant. Second time it happened, this time I just left after paying $5 for my single cup of diet coke. Great location. It's a shame.

This place is great once your in, but they use open table and they do not answer their. Driving from Ventura so walk-in is a gamble.
They need to hire someone that answer the phone and stop using open table, it just costs you lost business.

Don't be full by the menu on their website!
We picked this place based on the menu they show on their website.However, the day of our reservation we showed up to this place and the menu was different/shorter from what their menu shows online. We brought it to the waitress attention and they said the menu online has not been updated. We have not been the only one’s drawn to this place based on their menu.
So here’s their current menu. We felt mislead since we were celebrating my moms birthday and the dishes she wanted, like the paella, fish ceviche among others were No longer available. So don't go based their menu online. As of 09/31/24 see the pics for current menu

We made a request with our reservation (thank you greatly for allowing ‘request' when booking a reservation). Our request was honored and our server, Billy was truly personable~ an asset to any well run service business; especially restaurants. Be forewarned....the Cobb salad is huge and the dressing they used is superb. Additionally, the clam chowder bowl IS a big serving. We loved the added touch of leaving a fresh ground pepper mill at our table after grounding by our server. Chowder was scrumptious with lots of clam. Perfect meal, quiet, comfortable and beautiful atmosphere~ We found this a delightful experience. Best wishes to Pete and Billy!

Angelica was behind the bar and did a terrible job. This was the first eagles game of the season and I was told by the bartender it was an eagles bar and the game would be on. I asked 4 times for them to put the game on instead of yesterday’s game (chiefs v ravens) and each time they said “yes, just one minute.” The fifth time I asked, at the end of the first quarter, I was told I would have to ask the manager, Angelica, who I had already asked twice, I did mention this was my fifth time asking. It was soon clear Angelica was unable to operate the tv. I alow ordered some nachos which never arrived. I noticed an attitude from Angelica and after asking for my check a third time asked if I did anything to upset them. She responded “yes, you had a general bad attitude.” I did not know what to say. I and my party did not believe I was being rude, and frankly had an awful time.

Worst place we've been in years. The only thing going for this place is the harbor view. We ordered drinks and it took 15 minutes for my glass of wine and my husband's glass was forgotten completely. The restaurant wasn't busy so not sure why the slow service. We put our food order in and waited 40 minutes. Our waitress comped our drinks due to the delay but overall this was a big disappointment and waste of an evening.

Went to the restaurant yesterday, as walking in one of my buddies asked one of the waiters who was sitting down folding napkins and silverware. If we need to be escorted to a table or can we find a seat. The waiter had no response as well made the snarky remark Stating ( Are you blind can we not read the signs!) I rarely make complaints or bad reviews in general But after receiving that kind of remark, and that kind of service, This is an honest joke for being a higher end beach restaurant and I wouldn't go there again nor recommend this place to anybody else

The location is perfect, a beautiful place on the dock. Sadly, the experience was awful. We waited 30 minutes for a diet coke. We ordered food for 4 people and got it 2 by 2 but 20 minutes apart. When we ordered our desserts, the waiter brought the first 2 and then told us the other 2 were out of stock. The coffee we ordered with the dessert never came. I do have to say that our waiter was awesome and none of this it was her fault. I would not advise this place to others.

Had the cheeseburger and the shrimp sandwhich and i can say it did not dissapoint. They were so good. Also the service was out of this world. I dont know the girl but she had curly hair (if you know her name pls say so cause i am def coming back)
