The staff was very nice, even with heater problems. One minor mistake on an order, but the mistake overall did not affect the food that much and actually was good if not cooked as requested. Beautiful view on balcony.

TLDR: A hard pass due to a slow kitchen and bland food. Instead of maple syrup I received molasses for my undercooked food.Long version: Our visit to The Anchor Rose offered a mixed experience. Situated in a beautiful location with scenic views, we had high hopes for our meal. However, despite the attentive service from our server, the kitchen's performance left much to be desired. The French toast I ordered arrived cold and undercooked, lacking syrup. When I requested syrup, I was given molasses instead. This, coupled with the fact that we were one of only a few tables in the restaurant, made the hour-long wait for our simple order of three pieces of French toast and a cup of soup particularly frustrating. While our server was blameless in the shortcomings of the meal, it's clear that the issues lie with the kitchen and management. Despite the pleasant setting and service, the disappointing food quality and slow service detracted significantly from our overall experience. In summary, while Anchor Rose may offer a picturesque setting and friendly service, the lackluster food and operational inefficiencies prevent us from recommending it to others until improvements are made.

Great location on Santa Barbara pier but relies too much on that. Service was very friendly but food and drinks mediocre. Coffee was not good. Much more potential to make the best of the location. Interior tired too.

Arriving at 6:45 p.m. for dinner while enjoying the sunset, we were placed directly upstairs, on the terrace, with a view of the pier and all its boats. My friend and I had the ahi, delicious and perfectly prepared, although the side dish was a little cold. The atmosphere is calm and warm and the staff very attentive.

Looking for cocktails in a quick bite, and we’re pleasantly surprised with live music and well cooked seafood.

Food was good, but unfortunately only mediocre in taste.Service OK.I sat in a kind of winter garden where plastic prevailed.

Typical seafood restaurant with multiple fish dish options. The raw oysters were good, though the paella was average. Nice location at the harbor, which results in overpriced average food. Service was okay; nothing special.

Hostess and servers were great. Dinner took awhile longer than it should. Waiter brought us some bread and butter to hold us over. Dining partner had the swordfish and was very happy with it. I ordered the fish tacos which were described as “fresh sautéed fish.” The tacos came with fried breaded fish. Overdone with very thick wet breading and no discernible fish. Not good. Menu is pretty big, so we will give it another shot but order something else. Pretty loud inside. Maybe turn down the music. We'll eat outside next time. Drinks were very good.

All I can say is wowwwwww!!! I really wish I could give this place 10 stars!!! Everything was perfect. We came here for dinner on Valentine’s Day also to celebrate our first night as a married couple. The ambience was great, the music was spot on and was playing the latest R&B. I also received a single white rose when we arrived. I started with a Caesar salad and hubby had the clam chowder bread bowl both great starters. For entree I had the peppercorn steak, garlic mashed potatoes and seasonal veggies it was perfect. The steak was so tender and flavorful and the potatoes were sooo good. Husband ordered the rosemary chicken and garlic mashed potatoes which was also amazing!! The chicken was very moist and had an amazing lime sauce to add to its perfection! Best of all the service was top tier!! Our waiter was so attentive and kept coming to check on us and make sure the food was prepared correctly. I can go on and on about the good vibes of this place it was perfect. They even sent us home with a complimentary fudge brownie & ice cream desert. I would definitely recommend the Anchor Rose as a top restaurant to dine at !! 10 star ⭐️

Was hoping for a quiet date, and The Anchor Rose was categorized as a romantic choice. It was a little noisy, not their fault. The food was pretty good, swordfish was a little dry, but it was just a little louder than we were looking for .

Entered on the ground floor of the building as we saw a 'happy hour' sign outside. The lady confirmed it was indeed happy hour and gestured us upstairs. We were greeted by a man and again said we were here for happy hour drinks and he took us to a table outside and gave us the menu. We ordered 2 coconut mojitos, they tasted ok not great then we asked for the bill and there was no discount at all. Apparently it's only on selected drinks which was only 1 of the cocktails. Very bad service to not be transparent about that when we ordered our drinks, especially as we specified happy hour drinks. Would not return here, the views are not worth it and the drinks are so overpriced.

We popped in for Happy Hour before sunset and sat on the open rooftop. What a great view of the Santa Barbara harbour! The hostess was super pleasant and let us chose our seats. The margaritas were really, really good! We had the shrimp cocktail and calamari friti. Both were very good; large, fresh shrimp and the calamari was cooked perfectly. The regular dinner menu is on the pricier side but you are paying for the location. Our server was very attentive and pleasant. They do have indoor, lower patio and bar seating. There was a band starting to play downstairs as we were leaving. For a beautiful view, food and service I would recommend going!
