Consistent with many other reviews, this establishment demonstrates an unsettling pattern of disrespect toward its staff, including behavior that occurs openly in front of customers, the owner is an old lady. She & her daughter are both owners. Additionally, the owners have displayed conduct numerous times, that appears RACIALLY DISCRIMINATORY. While the physical atmosphere may be pleasant, the overall environment is overshadowed by the owners abhorrent & shameful treatment by these two women. Now, with the already high cost of dining in Santa Barbara, I would STRONGLY advise against spending money at a business that shows a lack of basic human to human respect and appreciation for its employees. Although it seems to be a popular tourist destination, don’t be fooled. There are far better alternatives available. These owners need to be accountable somehow. Please go somewhere else instead yall

The bakery is good. The coffee is good. I didn’t care for the eggs Benedict or the service. When I arrived at about 11:30 on a Sunday I needed to order at the counter but by the time I left there was table service so that was confusing. No one explained that. I was supposed to know. The food arrived before drinks. Never nice. I didn’t care for the spicy potatoes or the ham. Would go again for bakery and atmosphere on State street but not interested much in that breakfast menu. I didn’t care not order a gigantic mimosa but fine. I think my counter server could have explained more.

The place is totally cute, but the food and especially the staff are absolutely rude and horrible. They do not fit into Santa Barbara Hospitality at all. We go here once a year during the Christmas walk simply because it’s right in the middle of the action and every time it almost ruins the night. The staff there is so incredibly rude and the food is horrible. I have no idea why they’re still open. Maybe it’s a tourist trap because I don’t know any locals who actually go there.

Nice place, very friendly staff and so far delicious food. I only had a sample of the cheese Danish (blood sugar is high) but it was absolutely delicious. Im going to bring my wife down for their high tea service.

I agree with others reviewer's about the owner of this establishment being very rude to customer’s and treating her workers poorly. I had that same experience a few years ago and never went back.

My husband and I made our way to a bakery that had been advertised in a magazine which touted scratch made cakes and pastries.
I had the Princess cake while he tried the white sponge with chocolate icing. Very pricey in compared to cost/benefit ratio.
We bought a Kransekage & raspberry marzipan cookie to go - had we eaten them there, would have said something as there was NO marzipan /almond taste in what is meant to have major marzipan impact. Very disappointing - Solvang would have been a better option.

I ordered Hungarian goulash, but it wasn’t heated up enough. The waitress also tossed the utensils onto our table.
