Great wine tasting. By flight, glass or bottle - Zach is awesome. He knows his wines and describes them in a very entertaining, passionate and figurative speech that left me hanging on his lips.
The wine was delicious - I loved the Albariño.
Thanks for a good time.
First wine tasting we went to in SB.. the place is decorated with informative art and books. The bartender was very friendly and answered all our questions. As other reviews have said, it's great starting point for getting into wines of SB and surrounding area. I'd recommend starting here and then going to other tastings so you get a good lay of the land.
Excellent experience here. Zach was very knowledgeable and gave my wife and me a thorough and informative wine tasting. We bought three bottles: their Sauvignon blanc, chenin blanc, and carignan. Highly recommend you stop by! We’ve been to many of the tasting rooms in the Funk Zone but this is our favorite in terms of quality and service.
Zach and phoebe’s mom were amazing. Fun, knowledgeable! Amazing wines in an awesome spot!!! The artist who created the wall map is amazing!!!
There are SO MANY wine tasting rooms in the area, but make this one a priority! While some of them drop your flight on the table and leave you with an info sheet, The Valley Project is an immersive experience. The guys know their stuff -- from history of the region to the winemaking process -- and they refer frequently to the huge (and entertaining!) wall map to provide context for the wines they highlight. And each bottle we tasted was excellent.
Their Spanish Albariño is amazing. Very knowledgeable and welcoming staff. Very chill atmosphere. Highly recommend stopping by.
A place where two types of wine tasting are possible. I tasted 5 wines for $25, shared them with my companion, and tasted Santa Barbara wine. It was so delicious that I happily bought a bottle and returned! The staff is very friendly and the store allows strollers and dogs!!
My first ever wine tasting and it was brilliant I’m from London so to try some wines from California. We did the red tastings the guy explained with passion and I found the whole experience fascinating and the wine was top notch
Airy space, incredibly knowledgeable staff, excellent integration of education into the experience, and good wine. 10/10 will go
again.
Had a great white/red tasting experience led by Morgan. Great knowledge (especially with their wall map as a reference) and service. Will definitely return again!

As a wine club member for years and upon returning was met with an unwelcoming environment from the hierarchy. Been their multiple times with great experiences until coming to meet the owner. He was unwelcoming and didn’t live up to the previous welcoming experiences. Even though some experiences have been good, the owner made it so unwelcoming we decided to go next door where we had a much better time. If you are just visiting I would recommend going somewhere else as even the wine they served lacked quality compared to the other places around. Not to mention you’ll have a much better experience at other wineries that actually care about making memorable experience for their customers.
What an exceptional location for anyone looking to enjoy some outstanding wine! The hand-drawn map offers a fantastic opportunity to explore the region and appreciate its diverse microclimates.
Came here on a food walking tour. Good local wines. Can buy the bottles to take away.
Gorgeous wines served by really enthusiastic and knowledgeable staff. The chalk mural behind the bar of Californian wine locations needs to be seen to be believed. Super chilled, totally unpretentious and utterly delicious.
The waitstaff extremely inattentive and took too long to respond to customers.
