After reading some of the reviews about different experiences at this venue I was a little apprehensive. There seems to be some misconception about this club and an additional $5 cover charge. What some reviewers had failed to mention is that this charge is for patrons under 21 and it covers unlimited soft drinks. If you are going to see a band or group, doors open at 8pm and you will have to show ID at the door to receive a wristband for alcohol. Their website didn't correspond with the ticket start time, so I ended up going to the show a little early just in case; there is also no phone number on the site to verify any information. Some people have complained about the bouncers that work these events. The only thing I witnessed during the show was people acting stupid by trying to smoke weed or cigarettes. If you get caught doing either, you're removed from the show. In most instances if you are going to act like an a** you are going to be treated like an a*** Pros: Good venue for an intimate experience with your favorite band. Get there early because it is standing room only. I didn't purchase any alcohol so I can't really say what pricing is like. There is also an upstairs area that does not have seating, but provides a decent view of the stage. Cons: A very small venue, which makes for a very tight and stuffy experience. No seating except for a little bench seat in front of the sound board area. Very small bathrooms and smoking area out front.

The bouncers were extremely rude, we had to pay an entrance fee even though we already paid for tickets. The doors were supposed to open at 7 but they had us waiting on the street for almost an hour. The artist we were there to see didn't come on until after 9. Bad experience, will not be going back.

This place is awful, first of if your under 21 you are forced to pay 5$ for a drink ticket to get inside, if your going for a concert you can't even get the drink because you will lose your spot. The place lets it's friends open for whoever is preforming. The people who you are forced to listen to before the person you actually paid to go watch are horrible. They were being super rude to the audience, saying stuff like “if y'all don't make some noise for us, the artist you actually want to see won't come out” or “we will make you wait longer if you don't get excited”. I waited two and a half hours until the artist I paid for came out!! Also it was winter and the stage area was super hot

This venue is very intimate, but that has both positive and negative parts to it. I decided to come to this venue to see Bryce Vine because the West Hollywood show was sold out. I found out some good information about the venue on yelp but felt some parts need clarification. Parking: I came to a show on a Sunday so this didn't apply to me. The surrounding areas of the venue are 75 mins up until a certain time. I believe it's til 8, except Sunday. Even then we did have to park a few blocks away. There was a parking lot we passed, but there were cars waiting to park. Admission: I used my phone for my tickets and was no problem. There are no ins and out so be aware of that. Bathroom: typical of a small venue. There are only two stalls in the women's bathroom so be prepared to be waiting in a line. Bar: is place in an awkward place on the opposite side of the lighting and sound board BUT this is also the only area that you can drink. So it gets crowded FAST. Luckily I was able to get a nice spot right behind the lighting guy and was still able to see everything clearly. Not 21: if you are not 21 you can only be upstairs in the balcony or in the front. You aren't allowed to walk through the bar area. food&drink: their drinks are not too pricey but I am from LA so I'm used to expensive drinks. I was told there was a place to get Mac and cheese but unfortunately didn't wanna lose my spot so I'll have to check them out next time. Overall this venue is awesome mostly because the intimacy of it. I saw Bryce super up close and I wasn't even in the front area. If you are looking for a small venue with limited space but up close to an artist, this is the place for you!

So we came here today thinking that we were going to celebrate my best friends birth and guess what... there is no Velvet Jones on a Thursday. Go here on a Thursday I've never been here anytime but just warning to everyone else who want to come have a great day it's not open. Ok

By far one of the worst venue's I have ever attended in my life! I went to Velvet Jones last night 1/20/2019 to see Sage the Gemini. I arrived at 7:20PM. While I was there-there was an aggressive group of guys, many above 6 feet tall, in the front row. I promptly asked them if they could move over so that I could see as I am 5'1 and about 100 pounds. The guys refused and rudely remained in their place promptly pushing me and elbowing me throughout the night. I currently have bruises on my arms and face due to their aggressive behavior. Security did nothing in this situation to aid me and other girls being pushed around and injured in this situation. I will never return to Velvet Jones and advise all other not to.

Me and my friend bought tickets to see a bhad bhabie concert at velvet jones. we fully paid for our tickets online but when we got to the door they demanded us to pay an extra $5 each in order to get in which was never specified and we were not prepared for it. Also, the concert started at 7 pm but bhad bhabie did not show up until 9:30. The entire night it felt like the djs were stalling and we had to listen to various rappers whom i have never heard before and would never like to hear again. After the 2 and a half hour wait my friend and I (and a lot of the people in there) almost left. don't get me wrong, once bhad bhabie came on it was super lit and was a 10/10 experience. However, i cannot overlook the poor experience before she came on stage.

This used to be my favorite venue on earth, but after my last few visits and the experiences my friends have had performing there, I will actively avoid this place. Not allowing band members backstage because they aren't 21 when they are performing and making YOU money (there isn't a bad back there, don't see a problem), staff following people into the bathroom, imposing ridiculous rules that completely ruined our night. Heard it's under new management, so maybe that's why it has changed so much. Sad. Hopefully something changes.
