Intermezzo is one of the only restaurants that has done everything right consistently. I love this restaurant. The food is absolutely delicious, the ambiance is great, clean and well maintained. Most of all the staff is very professional and well trained for the job.
I just can't say enough about the food and especially the desserts. You have to try this restaurant.
Five star all the way.
Ambience was lovely as always. But the dinner and wine service was the worst I have ever had at this establishment. Prime rib was overcooked, steak was not as ordered, and the sommelier did not bring wine out early enough for it to open up adequately for the meal. New waiter was kind and congenial, but had not received enough training. All in all I was extremely disappointed in the whole evening from an establishment at which I had wonderful experiences in the past.
Until this most recent dining experience, Intermezzo had what we believed was the best burger in town — their Cask Burger — and it was one of our favorite places to go with this great burger and consistent staff. We always looked forward to going there for their burgers and Cabernet. Last evening we went looking forward to our usual. Instead, the burger was served on a squishy potato bun instead of the great brioche bun that complemented it perfectly in the past. It's like purchasing a high end suit and buying a tie from a discount store. A complete mismatch. In addition, the servers were all different, and last evening's service was not what we had become used to experiencing. May need to go on a new search for a new best burger in town.
We had a wonderful dinner out in the beautiful courtyard. The food and drink were great, service was exceptional and we had a wonderful visit by the owner. Highly recommend.
Dined outside and it was as lovely as usual. Food wonderful, again, as usual. But I have to say that I was quite shocked that I was charged $38 for a small appetizer salad with peaches and mozzarella!!!!! They should have at least told me the cost since it was a 'special'.
Love this place. Best place for best people watching. Brunch and special occasions are Stella there.
We went there for a Father's Day brunch and were not disappointed. Two of us enjoyed a French omelette and eggs benedict and one of us had an amazing fluffy French toast with brioche, creme brulee and fresh berries. We also had bottomless mimosas (there was a choice of several juices, but the peach puree was a winner). The courtyard is pretty, quiet and dog-friendly. We will return on another Sunday.
We have been here many times and I've had wonderful service and wonderful food. Last night was an exception, but it was terrible. We got seated right away and ordered some drink drinks. Those took a while to come as well as our appetizer french fries. We sat at 6 o'clock and two of our dinners came within about a half an hour. The last one didn't come until we were almost getting ready to leave, which was about 730. We decided not to have that dish. Ask them to take it off the bill. It was not a good experience.
Feeling so grateful that we got to host our wedding at the Wine Cask in early May. It was absolutely perfect!
We had 88 people and fit super well into their Gold Room with 7 tables of 12, a sweetheart table, and a kids table with 2 kiddos (could have fit 4). We set up our Photo Booth, DJ, cocktail hour, and an ice cream cart outside on their courtyard. The entrance to the reception also had room for our guestbook, cards and gifts. They also have candles and some decor that you can use, if you’re also on a tight budget.
The space was just the right size to keep guests always engaged and part of the fun, no matter where they were.
All of our guests raved about the appetizers and entrees (which they live fired) and their signature drink package, with guests being able to go inside and order a different cocktail on their own dime, was the perfect choice to keep our guests having fun all night long without breaking our budget.
And finally, you could not find a nicer, more professional, and more helpful group of people on staff. Every person greeted our guests with a smile and contributed to the overall success and positive vibes of the event. They even helped us pick an incredible after party spot (Dargans!).
Special shoutout to their Manager, Jenny, with whom we worked closely for months of planning and who helped keep the whole show running, along with setting up/tearing down everything, so we didn’t have to worry on our big day.
Would absolutely recommend the Wine Cask!! Can’t wait to come back to celebrate our anniversary. 💕 (Will post pics of the courtyard when I get them back)
Intermezzo serves up tasty, reasonably priced entrees in a comfortable and sophisticated environment. The service was solid too. I tried the burger and it was a winner. Everyone else enjoyed their entrees too. The drinks are perhaps a bit above market price for SB, but they were fine. I was really impressed by the dining area. It is not too fancy or stuffy. But it is classy enough for a first date or other special occasion. We will return.

.John O'Neill completely knocked Easter Brunch out of the park like no other Rocker could.
Executive Chef Mossin Sugich and his kitchen staff prepared an absolutely beautiful culinary experience.
Kudos x's infinity. A beautiful venue.
Sunday brunch at INTERMEZZO, is the place to be.
Thank you John O'Neill and Chef Sugich.
Intermezzo by Wine Cask is a true gem! The restaurant boasts a stunning atmosphere with gorgeous decor and perfectly set lighting, creating a wonderful ambiance. The service we received was truly phenomenal – our server was attentive, knowledgeable, and made the entire experience even better. We tried the pizza, fries, and chicken, and each dish was outstanding. The quality of the food was evident, and everything tasted incredible. This was an amazing experience, and we can't wait to return. Highly recommend!

Intermezzo always delivers a fantastic dining experience. This spot strikes the perfect balance between upscale and relaxed, making it ideal for a special dinner or brunch.
The service was fantastic, our constantly smiling and enthusiastic server, Mia, was prompt and attentive without being intrusive. Always there when we needed her. The rest of team were just as on top of it.
Now, for the food. While the food has always been very good, I was very excited when Chef Mossin was brought in recently. He has always had a great way of being thoughtful with dishes. His menu burst with flavor without being over creative needlessly.
Intermezzo has nailed the art of creating an experience that feels special yet approachable. Whether you're looking for a romantic date night, a celebratory dinner, or just a great meal in Santa Barbara, this place should be at the top of your list.
Can’t wait to join again soon.
We had a terrible experience and felt unfairly treated by the hostess. We won't try to come again.
