The food , the service , the ambience are all great. But they are so very unpredictable with their opening hours. They've been closed several times unexpectedly, not sure what's going on with them.

Okay so I'll admit that I love the food but I hate the fact that this place is never ever ever opened. Every single time me and my family have wanted to eat here for some weird reason they are always closed including today and this past Monday

This was one of the most worst experience we have had at a restaurant. Couldn’t believe we were given cold shoulder by the entire restaurant after we cancelled a food that was brought instead of the one we ordered. Very poor service. If you don’t have that food option - strike it out of the menu. Don’t have it in the menu and then take it up as an order and then bring something else and then justify that it’s all the same. There’s a reason why the food has different names even though it’s made with same idli batter.

And what made it more worse was - we had come on a vacation to SFO for a week from northeast and to pick this restaurant out of the 100s 1000s of hotel in SFO and receive such a bad service made us feel really bad. And no one from the restaurant had the courtesy to check in on us. Very poor.

Had a terrible experience here at Santa Clara location. Staff missed to deliver the full order on time , and then they started saying that we could not make your order, please eat what ever you have on the table. And as it was closing time they didn’t even offer to make anything else.
So the vegetarian person had to settle with white rice and curd and pickle.
So why would anyone come to a restaurant to eat that.
Also the staff is complaining that this happens as you guys came at the closing time. This is normal.

Such a bad experience here at this restaurant.
Not worth coming here to eat and then leave the restaurant by arguing with the team and not getting the full order.

Permanently closed :( The place was packed with people everytime we went, and the food and service and staff were all awesome. This was our favorite Indian restaurant in the Bay area over the last decade. The other branches don't quite get to the same experience.

We loved the food. Aappam was very tasty. Vegetarian biriyani was great plus other items we had. I would love to go back again.

Briyani was pathetic. Other items were below average. Service is pretty poor. They decided to run the place with couple of teen ages and they do poor job at handling things. I don't usually post reviews, but this made we wanna post this. Its better to avoid this place unless you want mediocre food with pathetic service.

Appam was good. The egg curry was ok. Three boiled eggs. The veg korma with the appam was just so so. Not at all delicious.

Filter coffee is good. They can make it strong too.

Aapakadai is our favorite restaurant for the taste. We regularly go to sunnyvale. We are new to santa clara. Today we tasted 😋 food. Delicious and mouth watering. Really nice. Ambience also good and spacious when compared to sunnyvale. However, its getting renovated. Hope it will be open soon.
