We've come to the age where we value quality over quantity when it comes to food; gone are the days of overstuffing ourselves at AYCE locations. As a result, we're always in search of new restaurants where the food really hits the spot and leaves us feeling satisfied. One of my friends recommended Baekjeong, as it was his favorite and go-to kbbq spot in the bay area. I was able to book a same-day reservation for our party of 6, and we ordered 2 large beef combos. The staff cooks the meat for you, and provides around 6 banchans and 2 salad types. Our server was Risa, who was super friendly and attentive, and we felt right at home with her. She kept everything running smoothly and made us feel so welcome. The food was fresh, flavorful, and came out quickly. Since then, many days have passed, but I'll have moments where I think back and crave the food we had at Baekjeong. I'm always looking forward to the next time I can come back.
Additional notes: Free wifi is available. Restaurant is on the exterior of Valley Fair mall. Parking is by the Stevens Creek parking garage with a short walk through the mall; most of the parking directly in front is only for the bank. Entrance is on the first floor, but restaurant is on the second floor with both stairs and elevator access. There usually is a host downstairs at the entrance to admit you, and you wait in the waiting room upstairs. They give a free soda to designated drivers!
Lower quality meats compared to the price. Worker splashed water on us and our food while bussing another table. Thankfully we were almost done with the meal. Probably not returning any time soon.
The beef cuts arrive well-marbled, expertly trimmed, and sear to juicy, smoky perfection right at the table, definitely among the best K-BBQ in the South Bay.
Skip the so-so appetizers and soup and pour your appetite into the stellar meat lineup instead.
It’s mediocre. Not comparable to the one in NYC
What a refreshing experience at a KBBQ restaurant. Our server(s) grilled our meal! A little pricey but the food was delicious 😋
Not up to the same standards as other locations in SoCal (Ktown, SGV, OC). Service was abysmal, had to ask multiple times for many missing items such as sides, sauces, drink refills. Banchan you see in SoCal were missing unless requested. Servers were absent minded and burnt food. They RAN OUT OF RICE and said that they normally run out of rice every night 😱. Avoid this location, it needs real work. Almost tempted to tip $0, even 10% seemed too much for the absent service.
Service wasn't good. Didn't fill up my water. I had to chase waiters down cause they keep forgetting my drink orders. Food was decent, the cooks here are nothing like socal, inexperienced. Overall.. wouldn't go back, might as well wait until I go To Socal for it.
It's good value for your money if you order just 1 or 2 meat dishes. For 2 people, 1 meat dish is enough. The corn cheese, grilled eggs, tofu, salad, and all the extra sides will fill you up plenty. There's no need to order extra items
Risa was nothing short of amazing and served us with utmost quality! Food was amazing and decadent!
I went with their most popular set: Hodong‘s Favorites Combo, which includes Thinly Sliced Beef Brisket, Boneless Short Rib, Pork Belly, and Marinated Pork Steak. Top-quality meat ❤️All grilled tableside by the amazing staff
The combo comes with your choice of stew — I chose the Kimchi Stew. It is a little extra spicy for me, but still okay
You also get refillable appetisers and two sides: egg and corn cheese

The host is very rude and ignorant!!!! Unacceptable to be in Valley Fair!
Horrible service & super over priced for small portions. Seriously a waste of time. Do not recommend in anyway.
the beauty of this restaurant is amazing. the employees that work there are very nice and friendly! i enjoy the food and corn cheese lol. overall, i do recommend this restaurant, it may be pricey but it’s worth it!
The pork belly was fantastic. Great environment and fun experience.
I don't want to say I'm a Korean bbq aficionado, but I occasionally crave it from time to time. Based on a friend’s recommendation, we had the large order for two of us. By far the best quality of meats I've had. The bonchon was delightful and everything we had was so good. Initially, the first set of meat was a little underseasoned. It progressively got better. We also had rhe soy bean soup and pancakes. Complementary flavor additions. Service was really good.
