My bf and I are frequent quests at the Hyatt House. We have eaten at Easterly a few times. I'm not a big fan, but I don't hate it either. The flavors do have a home cooked touch to it, but most of the time it's a little overly salty. We got a noodle dish today, I think it's the same one we usually get, as much as I like it, I also don't like how overly oily it is. We got the Mongolian beef which was mostly white and green onions, and some pork and cabbage steamed onion. The service was great, we sat outside because we had our dog with us. It was very sunny, the server opened the sun umbrella for us and brought out a bowl of water for our dog. The server was super attentive.

I have heard of this place when I asked a coworker from China to point me to a restaurant he considered authentic. This place seems to claim it makes food that reflect the culinary tradition of the Hunan province. I arrived at 6PM with an ex coworker/now friend on the 9th of March. This place is near a cluster of businesses. There is parking around but I figured that if I showed up an hour later I would have had to park far away (kudos to my buddy for suggesting early dinner). When we walked into the restaurant a polite gentleman welcomed us and pointed to a table that we occupied. He brought two plastic glasses of water, the ones I categorically refuse to drink (I don't drink tap water), so I asked if he had something else to drink and I found out that would have been hot Jasmine tea. There was two of us so you'd figure they will give you two menus but no: they gave my friend a tablet. He gave it to me and I started looking through the options. The tea arrived, along with two cardboard cups (yes ... cardboard). I finished looking through the menu, gave it to my friend and then I attracted the attention of a waitress when I turned around and I looked up to the exposed menu on the walls. At that point the lady figured out that, maybe, two menus would have made sense so she brought a printed menu, something I found amazing since, if I were her, I would have brought up two menus in the first place. At that point I started to scan through the printed menu and I discovered that most of the dishes I found interesting were actually spicy. Yes, it is clear that Hunan cuisine and food are intentionally spicy but the tabled did not make that clear. Thank my pantheon of Greek gods for protecting me since I am not a fan of more than moderately spicy food. I reorganized my choices and priorities. I then we ordered two dishes on the tablet and submitted the request from there. I saw the pork and Chinese cabbage dumplings (12 pieces). They looked interesting in the photo, I am a fan of jiaozi, especially guotie, so I decided I would try those dumplings. Our food arrived fairly quickly and my dumplings were alright: the flavor was fairly simple and the dip, a type of vinegar, was bitter and strong but interesting. I chatted with my friend and ate all the food. I was full but not entirely excited about the food. Perhaps other dishes on the menu are more appealing and flavorful. The food was OK. It just did not make a big impression. The prices are decent considering how outrageously expensive other restaurants in the Silicon Valley area at this point in time. I would go again, perhaps to try other food options. I don't understand the reason for serving tea in cardboard cups. I always had hot Jasmine tea in ceramic cups which are very popular in Chinese restaurants, likely also in China but, maybe, not so much in Hunan. It does not make sense.

A.decent Chinese restaurant in the Rivermark featuring Hunan cuisine, a type of spicy and savory Chinese regional cuisine. Hunan cuisine differs from Sichuan in that the latter also uses the Sichuan peppercorns that makes your tongue tingle and numb. I remember going to this restaurant several years ago when they first opened in the Bay Area (now they have expanded to four locations) and the food was spicy and memorable. This time it seemed to me the quality of their foods have gone downhill. We ordered pork stirfry with chili peppers, Chinese yam and wood ear fungus stir fry, a new dish the waitress recommended with bony duck pieces stir fired with duck blood and chili peppers, and a sheep tripe mushroom soup. The pork in the stirfry was too dry (did not seem fresh) and they used bell peppers instead of the authentic green chili peppers. This dish, unfortunately, did not taste like authentic Hunan food at all. The duck blood dish was very unusual, but it had too many bones and very little duck meat. The mushroom soup, not enough wild mushrooms, but too much bamboo shoots that seemed to have come from a can. For better spicy Chinese foods, in the future I will go to other restaurants in Cupertino instead.

Came here with my dad and I to grab something quick to eat for dinner before going up to SF. We ordered the stir fried fish (清炒鱼片) and the beef noodle stew. Really filling and hearty, family style dish but we did see lots of couples around us that ordered one to three dishes so YMMV (depends on your appetite!). I really enjoyed the broth in the beef noodle stew, it was not too salty and came with a good amount of vegetables. Noodles were QQ, the stir fried fish was delicious and aromatic. The tender texture paired with the crunchy leafy greens was well balanced! Overall, authentic Eastern Chinese fare in the Rivermark Plaza- a well maintained and nicely groomed area nestled in the middle of corporate Silicon Valley. No complaints about the surroundings, but when you go inside it's as real as you can get. Service is good and the interior is clean, lots of seating and the waiters are friendly!

Came here with a party of about 15 of us, and they were definitely not that prepared lol. The round tables seat about 10. We ended up connecting the long tables into a huge one for all of us. The long table design is nice - there's like a basket underneath to hold your stuff! Not for the round tables though. You order on an ipad. Our team ordered so much stuff. Quantity of the dishes were decent. What would I order again? I think: - the chicken soup - the spicy beef - sour cabbage fish fillet - vegetables were all yummy What would I not get again? - the shrimp with vermicelli noodles - clam dish (didn't have enough clams, just a ton of spices inside) Overall, customer service was great. Parking was also easy. And for my birthday... they gave me a complimentary birthday noodle dish! But they only gave it to me at the end when I'm stuffed LOL.

Pork with lettuce and fried rice were pretty good. Pork was really spicy. I may try different dishes.

Located in the rivermark plaza, parking can be pretty hit or miss depending on the time of day. We got here when they were an hour off from closing. There were maybe 3 or 4 other parties here. We were seated pretty quickly. My bf has ordered their fried rice on a previous occasion and I was super impressed by the wok hei so we decided to come here for dinner. The waitress spoke to us in Mandarin and named their specials and instructed us to use the tablet to order. We're Cantonese speakers so we could only sort of understand but we appreciated the hospitality. We understood enough haha. We could have told them we didn't speak Mandarin, but we decided to just go with the flow, we were in too deep. We got the braised pork belly with tofu and plain noodles. The plain noodles were definitely a good deal. I wasn't expecting vegetables, which were a nice touch. Especially great for the cold rainy night we were having. The pork belly and tofu were very well done. Really appreciated that it came with a flame so we could have hot food. Would definitely come back and see what else they offer.

Too salty and spicy for me. Always feel thirsty after eating Hunan dishes.

I have been waited over 20 mins to serve a dish. They did not even started. Once I told them I have an appointment that stops me to keep waiting. They used a mock tone to state “no one would try to expect lunch within 30 mins. She must lost her mind”. Avoid this place. Rude people and slow

Great authentic Chinese food. Ordered Togo from Uber eats and the prices/portions were really fair. Taste was on point. I liked all the dishes I ordered. I got the grilled tofu with minced pork, steamed egg with minced pork, smoked pork fried rice, and steamed braised pork with smashed peppers. Usually I critique each dish but tbh every dish was solid and what I expected if not a lil better. I had very low expectations of the smoked pork fried rice but the smoked pork added an interesting dimension to the fried rice. Overall, enjoyed my order from here and wouldn't hesitate to order from them again
