They have some really good deals. I like that you can buy in bulk. Very spacious store. Check out is a breeze.

I got some coupons and trying this new shop. It is pretty interesting. Locking carts just steps away from their door. Self checkout machine keeps beeping for “bags removed from bagging area”. This is insane. Not worth for some pennies saved.

Ugly store with busted up flooring they did t even fix when converting from Lucky to FoodMaxx. Lots of empty shelf spots. Avoid at all costs. Depressing as hell.

I’d say this is someone who likes shopping at FoodMaxx in their San Jose location

Great deals, way better than Luckys

Great deals! We scored a lot of deals for a party we are having.
Store is exactly the same as when it was Luckys, so hopefully they add more “Foodmaxx” colors to make it feel like the others.
They also need more cashiers and need a cleaner outside.
They did leave most of the machines such as the wells fargo atm, lottery scratchers, coin machine, key machine, and a couple more

Good deals and nice people :)

I had a terrible experience at the new FoodMaxx in Santa Clara (the one that replaced Lucky).

I bought a package clearly labeled “USDA Choice Beef Eye of Round Steak”, but when I cooked it, it was obviously pork. And they charged me $10 for it — pork being sold at beef prices! This feels like false labeling and very misleading.

Produce isn’t much better. For example, cherries are bagged and tagged to look like $3.99, but at checkout the barcode scans almost $9. It’s extremely deceptive.

This store pretends to be “discount,” but the prices are not actually cheap, and the way things are labeled makes customers feel tricked. I miss Lucky, and I won’t be coming back. From now on I’ll shop at Safeway where at least the prices and labels are honest.

The people here are really nice. They helped me sign up and charged my phone so we could finish it. They have lots of good products, clean bathrooms, and Mexican traditional foods. I was very pleased.
