Fugetsu - Sunnyvale

My waiter disappeared after taking my order. I see him talking to different cooks in the kitchen. I tried to flag him and other waiters multiple times to refill my water and then bring me my bill, but he didn't notice. Finally a waitress from across the room saw me and gave me my bill. Overall, I spent about 30 minutes waiting and seriously considered leaving at one point. I have other places to go.

I will not be coming back.

The okonomiyaki here was so good! I highly recommend the gyusuki since it comes with lots of gyudon beef slices over the cabbage pancake.

The food was amazing! Momma was over the moon! The staff was awesome, gave her amazing compliments and the service was fast! Price, amazing for authentic Japanese thank you guys!

Below average dining experience at Fugetsu, which is located inside of Rokko. The okonomiyaki dishes looked good for pictures, but taste wasn’t as good as expected. Service was slow, and the parking was very difficult to find. Tables sizes are small and sticky from beer…not going back.

They were decent busy for a Sunday. The food looks good but very salty so we can’t quite finish themThe rice in the sushi roll was good. We had to flag down the server to get water.

I really like the concept as a person who was brought up in Tokyo ie part conbini, osouzaiya, deli. I have several minor issues with their food quality though. Ordered deluxe okonomiyaki which was closer to Hiroshima style with noodles, but the noodles were hard. Crunchy hard. And way, way too much mayo . All I could taste was mayo. Sickening amount of mayo spread on it.Next item I purchased was 5 pieces of oinarisan ie stuffed deep fried tofu skin with different topping. Topping was generally ok, except few pieces slathered with too much mayo again. Go easy on mayo and they would be better.Another problem I had with is hardness of rice. I find this problem with all US based supermarket, Japanese grocery store prepared sushi and rice offering. Rice found in the US markets are too hard. Go to Japan and you will see their rice for sushi, bento is softer. I can make soft rice in the US, so it is how these places make rice. Since these items are normally refrigerated, the cooked rice becomes even harder in chilled dry environment like coolers. Cook the rice softer like in Japan. I do wish they continue to improve on their quality and I am cheering for them to get better. Shala la had the great ramen when they were in Mountain View.

Shrimp & Veggie Tempura: 4.5/5A great variety of shrimp and assorted veggies! Very generous and included 4 shrimp tempura. Very fresh and crispy.

Well lot and decorated!Only downside is that the wait times are very long. The boba tea was very tasty.
