Had to wait just to be seated for Orenchi. No yakitori on menu, even though the host said the menu are the same for both restaurants.
Sooooo disappointed that they redirected me to the next door ramen restaurant but I came to dine in for the Sumika menu
The service is EXTREMELY BAD. I called to confirm the availability of one dish Maguro Don which is not shown in the online manu. But the waiter just hanged up the phone after redirect me to the online ordering.
Sumika Grill shares a kitchen with Orenchi Ramen. In fact during the Covid 19 SIP, you can order take out from both restaurants and pick up your food at the entrance to Orenchi. We tried two Bento boxes which were priced nearly 20 bucks each. The food was good quality with an interest assortment of tasty appetizers, salad, soup, and entree. I had the pork loin and my wife had the pork cutlet. Tasty with crispy breading. The food was tasty with many interest flavors. We couldn’t resist and got a couple of Orenchi ramen bowls for a later meal. Others have commented that the food is a bit pricey and we’d have to agree but the choices for good Japanese in this part of the Bay Area are limited.
Pork belly skewer is good when it is not too fatty. A little over priced.
Expensive BBQ but lovely and delicious skewers!
Oyako-don was pretty good. I ordered, a well done for the egg and got what I wanted. Good for their price but skewers are on the pricey / affordable end. definitely would come back for more.
Great Japanese food. Fantastic skewers, small plates and main don's. Wait staff was efficient and attentive. Will definately return.
Very good, but pretty pricey which is understandable. The service is very good
Maybe I like things on the spicy side too much, I thought the food needed more seasoning, more kick. The fried chicken was too bland, even my carnivorous kids didn't like it. Green tea is not something they carry...come on, Asian banana like me expects to find green tea in every Japanese joint.

This is a nice little Japanese grill/restaurant if you are looking to sample a variety of meats plus some other unique vittles.
A less crowded version of the original Los Altos restaurant. Friendly service and delicious food. The frozen custard was surprisingly good.
Absolutely loved every single item we ordered. For a restaurant specializing in charcoal grilled dishes, thoughtful planning was done to put a barrier in place to prevent smoke from ruining the interior of the place and vent fans were quiet enough that we could talk at a comfortable level. Their Sumika house salad is delicious and goes well with everything.
Came here for a business lunch. Fresh, tender and juicy pork cutlet. The guys who ordered the seafood didn't rave about it though. Suggest to stick to the pork. Attentive service.
