We had a resevation and were seated right away. The mochi pizza is a must try!! It's plenty to share too. The appetizers are pretty standard but their pastas are really good!
You know when you try someplace new because it looked nice on social media and yelp, but not sure if you should try it because that's just what it is, a pretty face? Well that's this place. Cute decor, super friendly staff but the food was really not what I expected. In ordered the salmon risotto and it tasted like canned salmon. Not sure I would return. And definitely won't be “influenced” again.
What a gem of a place. Very unique options. We would have liked a bigger plate when we were having the meal in family style. Went at lunch and it was much more relaxing and less hurried than dinner. Being a small place we understand we could not linger. Wished they had not run out of the matcha tiramisu which we had at dinner the other visit. If they have it enjoy!
Food is good especiall I'm impressed by the pizza crust. Pasta also good and service is efficient.
While still a good place for dinner the quality of the experience has dropped compared to previous visits likely due to the increased popularity. The service was slower than desired and the quality of the dishes was lower than on previous visits. If you've never had Japanese Italian food, La Casa Mia is worth a visit especially if you'll never visit Japan.
La Casa Mia is a gem! You were looking for an Italian restaurant to celebrate an anniversary. We were happy to see that there is a place that does Italian exceptionally well with a Japanese flair. We ordered 5 different dishes. All of them were delicious!
We had 10 people who shared a pitcher of sangria( enough for about 1/2 glass each) and each ordered a plate each. We were satisfied with the pasta and pizza we ordered. Interesting fusion dishes that works!
I was hesitant to visit as the Italian/Japanese fusion concept just seemed too strange to me, but I'm glad I finally came through! The Santa Clara location is a hole in the wall - very cozy, a little chintzy, but the food combinations (though admittedly bizarre) are pretty tasty. I had the cutlet with udon (the udon was perfect, the cutlet seemed reheated), and the mochi pizza with corn and meat sauce. The textures are trippy for sure, but the flavors are memorable. The service isn't the best but we visited on a busy Friday night so maybe they were just swamped. Definitely recommend making a reservation, at least on Friday night.
Reservations are recommended. The mentaiko cream pasty and pizza were good; other dishes were standard. Drinks are too sweet. One server was friendly, the other one seems interested in arguing about the little details.
Our third time here. All that we had was excellent, including the edaname (garlic), the honey chicken (always great), and this time we tried the shrimp and garlic pizza. Again, all was excellent.

lovely little sit down restaurant with a super cute interior design scheme. we ordered two pizzas and a pasta. very creative and interesting fusion flavors! i really enjoyed the yakult berry drink and the salmon pasta. would definitely come again, especially if they bring back the previous dessert selection.

This place is a hidden gem, the location was not easy parking, but the interior space was cute and floral, our food was great, we ordered one pizza, one pasta and one fries, it’s enough to feed three people with a fair price. I love pizza, very Italian taste! Our pasta was chewy & juicy!! I believe we definitely want to come again!

I have heard a lot about this place and it has been on my radar for a while. Went with some colleagues. First of all, this place serves some seriously delicious and great value food for sure!
We ordered a variety of food - from the risotto to pizza and pasta. Their salmon shimeji mushroom risotto was so flavorful with strong umami taste. Only surprise and complaint was the serving portion too little/small.
I think the risotto and the Mentaiko mochi mayo cheese pizza are the highlights! The spicy cod roe and mentaiko mayo and mochi added to the pizza gave it a uniquely delicious and creamy texture with thin crispy crust that we like. I would come back for these two dishes.
We also had their vegetable pomodoro pasta which has good flavor profile but nothing special in my opinion.
Service was average. Kept asking if we needed any other order (few times- once not long after we were seated and our food has not been served to us yet?!). I guess the waitress and kitchen wanted to wrap up by 2pm for their break. That was the only complaint I have.
Ambiance - they have two outside tables for those who like outdoor dining. Parking can get a little tough in that plaza during day.

One of my favorite restaurants in the Bay Area. I love all the pastas and the pizzas! The combination of Japanese style and Italian style is so unique and rare to find in other places.

A friend recommended this place so I decided to pay a visit. Overall, the food is good. For drinks, I had the ume soju cocktail — tastes okay, but the drink menu lacks creativity and feels like something I could easily recreate at home. We had the honey mustard chicken as an appetizer and the Mentaiko cream pasta as the main course. The pasta was excellent, with a creamy and well-balanced flavor. The fried chicken, however, had a coating that was too thick, which made it a bit heavy.
