Was at this place to pick up our order and found this place to be a decent place with Indian taste food. The place has ample parking and it was convenient to pick up our order. One of the items which I liked was corn chilly and the quantity was good enough. Would certainly try more veggies item next time.

We were visiting California and decided to try this place for Kerala dish based on the reviews. So we stopped by at this place for lunch (June 19th 2025). The ambience was good and plenty of parking available. The menu does have Kerala dishes with a mix/match of various North Indian and bit of south Indian biriyanis. We ordered Veg Cutlet, Kerala Porotta and Green peas masala. The cutlet looked good until we cut it open and realized some shredded pieces which looked like fish. It did not taste like veg cutlet eventhough there were mashed potatoes along with something else shredded and mixed in it (may be they used the same oil which they used to fry fish). They did not provide any sauce with the cutlet and we had to ask for it. We asked the waitress to confirm if the cutlet is Veg and she did confirm that it is veg. We couldn't eat it because too much fish flavor in it. Kerala Porotta and Green peas masala was good, even though the porotta was not fresh and looked like frozen one. After we finished eating, we had some left over curry which we boxed to take home. However when we left the restaurant, we forgot to take the boxed left over and we came back to the restaurant with in 5 mins to take it. By the time the waitress trashed the container. Who will box left over if they don't want to take it. She could've waited for some time before trashing it. Absolutely no common sense. Never visiting this restaurant again. That one star rating is for Green peas masala which tasted good.

I was disappointed to know the kerala parotta was frozen and not freshly made. That was the biggest hit. The Edala curry was fine but lacked flavors that one would expect in an authentic one. I wanted to try the beef fry, but I couldn't, I'm guessing this is the fish they bet the restaurant one. Perhaps will try next time.

Here from Orlando looking for authentic Kerala food and this hit the spot. Delicious appam and Porotta with vegetable stew and Chicken Roast and Ulavacharu Paneer Biryani. Attentive service in a no frills restaurant and very reasonably priced. Definitely on a repeat list.

Appam and Kerala Porotta were good. But mutton fry, beef fry and chicken curry were all average.

We had Lunch at Malabar Coast and it was honestly one of the best Indian meals we’ve had in the Bay Area.
We tried the chicken roast, Kerala mutton curry, and Thalassery biryani — all three dishes were packed with flavour and tasted homemade.
The chef clearly puts a lot of care into the food. quality is top-notch,
Highly recommend if you’re craving real Kerala food.

I recently visited Malabar Coast in Santa Clara, and I must say – the food was absolutely delicious! The food was simply outstanding – rich in authentic South Indian flavors, perfectly spiced, and cooked to perfection. Every dish felt like it was made with care and passion.

A special shoutout to the CHEF, whose talent truly shines through every plate. You can tell that each recipe is crafted with deep knowledge of traditional Kerala cuisine and a modern touch that elevates the entire dining experience. The flavors were well-balanced, the presentation was beautiful, and everything tasted fresh and satisfying.

Highly recommend Malabar Coast to anyone looking for a true taste of the Malabar region. I’m definitely coming back for more!

Christo's Take

If you are looking for proper Kerala food, look no more. This is the place.
Order Thalasseri Mutton Biriyani, Chicken Biriyani and Gobi Manchurian.
Meat was well cooked, spices were well balanced. Just the right amount of ghee used. Comes with Kerala style lemon pickle and Kerala style salad.
Gobi Manchurian was well prepared. I had it with chappathi.
I drove 52miles to try this restaurant as it is very difficult to find a proper Kerala Restaurant. It was worth it and this place will be my go to whenever I crave for proper Malayali food.
Owners: Please don't loose this chef.
