Mapo BBQ is our favorite spot for team dinners in San Jose. The food is always consistently delicious – especially the kkot-sal (beef sirloin), spicy gopchang bokkeum, and squid tteokbokki. No matter how many times we visit, the quality and flavors never disappoint. The portions are great for sharing, and the friendly, attentive service makes it a perfect place for group gatherings and company meals. This is one of the best barbecue spots in Santa Clara, hands down. They also have excellent side dishes, including their fresh kimchi. However, service always sucks and I speak the language.

Food and service is great but I was very displeased with the container charge.

I asked for a container to take leftovers and they didn't tell me there was a charge for it. I found out after looking at the bill. Seems like a cost they should take as a restaurant.

Not happy with the lack of communication.
