This place has the best bun bo hue in San Jose, hands down! I work close to here and it's the perfect place to go to get my favorite comfort/raining day food after a stressful day.

Late lunch, only me in restaurant. Asked to change the channel on TV and the owner who was sitting in the corner not watching the TV, said "No, it's my channel". Well guess what channel he's watching.Food was good, though.

Tofus are too spicy to eat. The pork is a bit smelly, they rest are just ok.

I'm so glad I found this place! I had the vermicelli with pork and shrimp. Fantastic! I just got off a long flight and it was the perfect thing to fill me up and settle my belly. Highly recommended!

This spring roll is definitely over priced. I can get the same thing for $ 6 dollars at any other pho place. They charged almost double price. I will not come back.

Love this place. I work down the street and occasionally drop in for lunch. I grab their egg noodle seafood combo with soup on the side and it never disappoints. Service is good.

This place sucks.. Bad service and bad food no flavor at all. Never coming to this place again!

I got a chicken pho and it was so delicious. Can't wait to get it again. I've been thinking about it a lot lately.

First time here in almost two years! So glad they are still here. We used to come at least once a week for years. This place is the real deal. Food still just as good, but a bit more expensive, no surprise. And I think they had new ownership a few years ago, but I was greeted by the same original workers I remember which was really nice to see. Of course we had the bun bo hue. It was pretty empty so I'm hoping this isn't the norm. Please give this spot a chance if you love bun bo hue.

I missed the ambience here before the pandemic happened. The place was so crowded, and full of joy, now after the pandemic the amount of customers reduced. But the food still as good as before, I often to-go during lunch and dine-in when I have time. The service was quick, the owner always willing to describe what inside the dish to me. Bun bo Hue is amazing, very traditional, a lot of topping comes with it, the beef is fresh and high-quality. The broth not oily, not salty or spicy too much just right. Beside that, I am also in love with their "Hu Tieu Dac Biet" which is a highlight here, you will satisfied with their significant sauce that come with it when you order dry noodles with soup on the side. The broth was tasty, clear and smell so good. In general, I really want to support the small business with good service, and high quality. The staff are middle age, so they don't know much about the social media, but this place is good for friends and family

We always come here for Bun Bo Hue special. Meat is tender and soup is just right after adding the side veggies with a touch of lime. If you’re big eater like I am, get the “train” size ?. Love it!

Go here for Bun Bo Hue but skip other dishes because it was not so good. I ordered one BBH and bun tom thit nuong to go. The bun dish had three little pieces of grilled pork and two little shrimps. It was $15 dish!

I like everything I've had here, but the Catfish Bun is off the hook. Hard to find elsewhere. Made with tumeric, it's delicious and colorful. Sweet wait staff and owners. A modest Mom&Pop pho place that has me hooked on the catfish

I've been coming here for years. Just good comfort food, especially if you like bun bo hue.

Why Not? ..

I took friends here at different times because of the good food. The middle-aged waitress is so unpleasant. She must be related to the owner because of the snobbish air. She never looked at us whilst taking orders every time I was there. It was like she was too good to serve us or s. Two of my friends became so upset that they told me not to come here again because of her rudeness. Strangely the male owner and a much older female server are quite nice and pleasant. In general, services from Asian businesses (especially in the food estaurant industry) are not their strength. Don't get me wrong because I am also Asian, currently owning a medical device engineering services firm, and have co-owned a large steak and seafood restaurant in the past. Therefore, I'm still amazed many do not and have not recognised the importance of outstanding services - when you have a business operation in the western world. Well... I guess it's either because they don't care, or they just don't like to be treated with respect and pleasantness. As the Americans say, you treat people the way you want to be treated.
