Cioppino, LA Galbi & Seafood pancake are amazing! We enjoy the food and service from the owner every time.We appreciate the busy yet smiling owner. We can tell the restaurant is short-staffed, but the food quality still doesn’t disappoint us.

I'm not sure if "modern" describes the Korean food here at Silla, as the food takes on traditional flavors and traditional approaches. Perhaps the "modern" is the approach in how the food is made or a twist in the flavor complexes? Either way, it was good. Just felt like traditional Korean food that was made well. We ordered a number of classic dishes and they were all made well. Wifey ordered, so other than Kim chi pancake, galbi-jin, cold bean noodles, and bibimbap, I can't really say what else was ordered.Came as a party of 6, including a baby, and the host/ owner was very nice. Greeted with a smile and food promptly brought out, he was great at making sure we had what we needed. We visited at around 6:00 and was the first party in the door. More eventually filtered in as I feel like this place focuses on dinner and more of the late night crowd.Ample private lot parking right next to the restaurant off El Camino.

The bibimbop was the best I've had. The rice was so crunchy. We also got the special cold bean noodles in a creamy cashew tofu sauce. It would have been too bland on most cold winter days, but was a perfect reset for us since we'd been eating heavy food the past two days in summer weather.

Yum yum yum!In town for the Eras Tour and decided to check this place out since it was relatively nearby our hotel. We went in around 9pm and it wasn't too busy so we were seated immediately. The inside is pleasant. It's super clean and decorated well with numerous cute neon light signs on the wall. The food... YUM! My sisters, my bf, and I all decided to share three dishes: seafood scallion pancakes, K-Army Stew, and LA Galbi Ribs. Seafood Scallion Pancakes: YUM! Both my sisters agreed this was their favorite thing. It came out first and WOW was it a way to open our meal. It was simultaneously slightly crisped and it melts in your mouth. LA Galbi Ribs: My boyfriend and I's favorite of the night. It was seasoned so well and it was nice and tender!!! It came out with banchan as well! K-Army Stew: So solid. This was so great to share. It comes out with a propane burner, almost like a mini hot pot. Because if this, it stays the perfect temp throughout the meal. A comforting soup filled with spam, korean sausage, rice cakes, beans, ramen, and topped with cheese. The broth is on the sweeter side and we all really enjoyed it. Once you slurp all your ramen, enjoy the rest of the broth with the purple rice they provide!!! The service was good! Everyone was very friendly. You're given a pitcher of water so you can feel free to pour yourself water when you run out. There's also a call button if you need your server, which I don't usually see in restaurants. Everything was so good and I can definitely see myself coming here again if I'm ever in the area.

The WORST Korean restaurant I have ever had in Bay Area! When we walked in the restaurant, there is a customer complaining to the owner they forgot to prepare her take-out order, and she had nothing to eat for dinner. That should have been our first red flag! But we missed it.Then after we sit down, it took the owner a while to give us some water and took our order. That should have been our second red flag but we missed again. And when my dad pick up the napkin, a GIANT BUG was crawling beneath it! That totally freaked me out and made me concern about the cleanness about the restaurant and food. I wanted to walk out but since we already put down the order, I felt bad to do so. But then, when I try to move my plate, ANOTHER BUG crawled out!!! That is definitely a sign of a restaurant being not proper cleaned and could result in health issue!Again, we stayed for dinner just because the owner said they already started preparing food. And we changed to another table. However, when the food came up, we ordered four items but only three was made. Waitress was not writing down my order but memorizing them. And when I complained to the owner he said it would take another 15 minutes to get the fourth item because they are busy with preparing delivery food orders. It was a horrible dining experience. I will for sure never visit again. Santa Clara's Korean restaurant scene has always been good, with all the high quality food and environment. I honestly don't know how this restaurant is survived here, very disappointed.

Can’t believe the store owner told me to not be upset because it’s Mother’s Day. Returning customer very disappointed by the service. Came for a pickup order and a woman straightly told me it was cancelled, then asked me to wait extra 15 min. It’s totally understandable that restaurants can be busy and I chose to cancel and asked when I would get the email confirming the cancellation (because of the woman telling me the unexpected cancel). Then a man came and told me “don’t be upset it’s Mother’s Day”. What does this have to do with mothers day and why should I care? Do you do special promo events on Mother’s Day or what? You’re a guy how can you patronize me a woman on Mother’s Day? So absurd.

Opted for Sila based on great reviews on Yelp as we were in the mood for Korean food. The setting is casual and nice. Surprised the menu did not have more options and the prices are steep!! There were only a couple of other tables with customers when we walked in around 6:30PM on a Friday night. It took a while to get the menu as there is no WiFi and the phone reception on two different carriers inside the restaurant is basically nonexistent!! So couldn't use the QR menu and got the actual menu from our server. The entire restaurant had one server ( tables started filling up fast), so attention to the customers and checking on drink refill or entree taste was basically not there!!! Had to ask for our server to stop by for water refills.Ordered the kimchi seafood pancake ($30!!!), short beef galbi and beef bibimbop. The meat quality was great, but portions are small and the prices are way too high for what you are served. Keep in mind that it is what they consider "Modern" Korean food and it has subtle differences from a regular Korean restaurant. Even the banchan were different. Instead of regular spinach, they had kale with tofu. There was a baby squash banchan we had never tried before... The seafood pancake was more crispy and felt like was more deep fried compared to other restaurants. All together it was a good experience, but won't be back as the service quality, the high entree prices compared to what you get is not worth going back. All together

My boyfriend and I came for dinner on a Tuesday night and I was sad to see how empty it was! They definitely deserve more customers. The person helping us was soo nice and accommodating. We ordered the galbi jim and it came out within 15 minutes. The galbi jim came with shrimp which was new to me, sweet potato noodles and lots of sweet potatoes/yams. There were also a few rice cakes! The flavor was incredible: so sweet and savory and delicious! I do believe the flavor is comparable if not better than Daeho and it costs less too. We also loved all the side dishes and the purple rice.Overall, this spot definitely deserves more love! Definitely try it for that galbi jim :)

Came here on a weekday so I don't know how it it during the weekend.Place is nice quiet and family friendly.I came here with a friend for dinner. There were several tables about 3 tables occupied for a weekday dinner, but I am there to see if food is good.I wished my dish had more meat. It was mostly rice but I was disappointed because it was good. Just wished more meat portion than rice. What we truly enjoyed was the Korean pancake. That one was for sure a winner. Sides where ok.

my friend told me about this place and said there was really good ciopinno here, so that was the only thing I got here!I came here on a Thursday night with a friend, around 7pm. I feel like there were less than 20 people there. the dining area has some booths and some tables set up. We got seated in a booth right away. they said we could order via the QR code, but I think since it was so slow, they still came up and asked us our order. We got the ciopinno to split between the both of us, soju, and a beer. They brought over banchan per person (portions of banchan on a plate per person), and some hot tea. banchan was some fish cake, bean spouts, japchae, mash potato, kale and pickled radish. The chef brought the ciopinno over and was explained how to set it up. He brought over an external burner and placed the pot of ciopinno on top. It was already heated up, but he said to let it sit for another 3-5 minutes right before it is boiling so eat. Then can shut off it is too hot. It felt like he cared a lot about his cooking and making sure his guests like it too!The ciopinno was delicious and was filled with clams, mussels, fish, squid and udon. The broth/sauce was tomato-ey and had a little bit of gochujang spicy taste! I wish there were more ways I could slurp it up. The chef came by and also brought us some purple rice to go with the ciopinno. One ciopinno was enough for two people. We wished we could have tried more things! As for interior, I felt like half of the restaurant (main room) gave off a quiet nice weeknight dinner, and the other half (a separate room) gave off a very pocha k vibe, with soju and neon signs at the doorway. I can see it getting loud and drunkish vibes, which is not a bad thing!Parking lot is big enough for the establishment, but its pretty hard to find this spot! It does not really have a sign to show you the parking lot or the restaurant, you have to just kinda use your google/Apple Maps to guide you into the correct lot! and even then.... I wasn't sure I was going to the correct place because there wasn't a sign at the door either!

Worst Korean restaurant that I tried in South Bay area. Not sure how this restaurant received it's accolade. By modern Korean cuisine, they meant like it's instant food from the supermarket, plus adding a few pieces of gnocchi to their food. Food was bad and not value for money. Paid $26 for a miserable bowl of tteok-bokki which 'generously' included 2 thin slices of hotdog and some fishcake, and tasted like it came out of an instant pack. Beef soup also tasted instant, rice was stale. Even banchan was bad consistent with other reviews You have to wait minutes to sit, since no one is at the entrance or the reception. I just don't anything good to say about the restaurant. I'll definitely be staying away. Plenty of better Korean restaurants to spend my money on. Be warned.
