I cry everyday knowing they closed this place down. This was the best Mexican + vegan food in San Jose. I use to come every Saturday morning to the farmers market, hung over, just to get their VV fries. I hope one day they open up again.

Vegan/vegetarian for a decade now. It's refreshing to see more pop ups get into market that most vegan restaurants don't get Into. Raised in east side by Hispanic parents makes me glad to revisit old foods I don't often get to try mimic of. I was particularly impressed it's one of few spots wiling to make a stand and not push mask for its staff. I have mad respect for the business. I've had good meals and not so good ones through out last year with them. It seems their marinates can be hit or miss on their vegan meats. They've defiantly nailed it for meaty savory taste one can hope for, then sometimes is to subtle or way too strong tasting. I always order multiple meat tacos, and find having new favorite meat that time trying.(not a good thing). I believe if they found source to this problem the food would be a 5 for vegan Mexican food. However, I will also say as a long time vegan, the prices at time are discouraging. They are restaurant price. I get people are all about the hype, but I don't think one should be paying so much for street tacos. If I was sitting at establishment then I guess I could justify those prices. But, it's still prevented me from wanting to go as often due high prices. My overall advice to bringing this up to 4/5 star score is find consistency in the vegan meat marination and consider being more competitive with prices. Good luck to you vegan veganos!

This food truck will change your mind about vegan food. You seriously cannot go wrong with anything on the menu. Everything I tried had so much flavor and were so tasty! I recommend trying the shrimp tacos. They were so good. I also tried some of their loaded fries and nachos. You can't even tell you are not eating meat. They are very popular, so wait times for getting your food can be long, but it is definantly worth the wait! The food truck goes to several locations throughout the week, so I would check their Instagram or website to find out where they are on a particular day.

For what you're trying to do, create vegan substitutes of classic tacos, I think it's fantastic. My main complaint is that the tacos were lukewarm and the salsa cold. It makes it hard to favorably compete with the hot-off-the-grill meat versions! In the past, I'd only had fusion style vegetarian tacos. These meat-substitute tacos are an interesting addition to the food-verse.

Check their Instagram for updates on their location because they change it up periodically. Also, be aware that the menu is much more extensive than they list on the whiteboard so check the iPad when you're ordering. My wife and I went last night and we're pretty impressed. I'm not vegan but she has dairy allergies so we often eat vegan. Here's everything we had, in order of how much I liked it: -Quesabirria tacos: these were bomb! The "cheese" they used was super melty, the jackfruit had a nice texture, and the consommé was really flavorful. I highly recommend! -Shrimp taco: the ingredients tasted really fresh and it had a nice but not overpowering chipotle sauce. This taco was more expensive than the other tacos but it was also bigger. - Horchata: nice flavor and texture. Taco platter: This was the only thing we ordered that I didn't really enjoy. The tacos were cold, which was disappointing. The pastor and chorizo had decent flavors but I didn't like the carne asada. It had a weird bitter flavor and I wouldn't recommend it. Get the quesabirria instead!

Best. Tacos. Ever. These are some of the most delicious tacos I have ever had & it's even better that they're vegan. The carne asada fries are LOADED & to die for. Al pastor has such great flavor and the pineapples add the perfect touch. But let's talk about the shrimp tacos... the shrimp tacos are mind-blowingly real and so so so good. I always get 2 shrimp tacos just because one isn't enough. I dream about these tacos and will always come by wherever they are in the bay!!

I can't believe it's not real butter (..oops I meant meat!) This is my first ever vegan Mexican food experience. When I saw Vegan Veganos' Instagram, I knew I had to try it! It took me long enough but I finally got to try it today 10/7/21. They were located really close to my house. Be sure to follow them on Instagram to check their hours and locations and it varies often. I placed an online order and pick up was easy. Everything on the menu sounds delicious. Pics are very helpful! I ordered the "shrimp" taco and vegan Birria tacos. Not sure what the "shrimp" is made out of but they definitely had the crunch shrimp-like texture. Impressive! $5 is kinda pricy but the portion size made up for it! Taco wasn't soggy considering they used one tortilla. I really liked the mild orange sauce! Yummm. Next is the Birria tacos (3 per order). I cannot believe this is vegan! Even the cheese!! Woahhh. It was love at first bite. I had to do a double take to remind myself that it didn't have any meat! The Birria consommé was ok. Tbh, I thought the taco was good on its own. Tacos were still very crispy on my drive back home. Overall, I could see myself coming back for more (only if they are close to me!)

This spot has my favorite vegan shrimp tacos. Usually check out in their social media well they'll have their truck posted up at. They have a system when you can order online which can speed things up because sometimes they can have a line. Always friendly staff.

Every. Single. Thing. On. Their. Menu. SMACKS! I really love the shrimp tacos and nachos/fries... Soo goood. My boyfriend loves the jackfruit super tacos, chorizo tacos, and al pastor tacos. But literally cannot go wrong with anything on their menu. Whoever cooks this, bruh...

Ordered 2 street tacos with beef substitute. The tacos were good, loaded. The best part was salsa. Habanero salsa was amazing with good spicy kick and avocado salsa is good for the mild flavor. Found the truck at Farmers Market in Mountain View on Thursday. I would love to try their other stuff next time.

A definitely must try to everyone, not just vegans! Their tacos are so tasty and fill of flavor I can eat 10 and still want more. All their tacos are really good so if you get a chance try each of them along with their date horchata... you will not be disappointed. The only reason this isn't a 5 rating is because they are a it pricey and they are a pop up so only available a few days a week and for special events.

Great plant-based Mexican option in the South Bay. Had the quesabirria, horchata, and split nachos with someone. Looking forward to trying more from the menu next time I'm in the area.

Amazing food! Third time visiting them and I'm still amazed by how good their stuff is. My favorites are the vv shrimp fries with no cheese or beans and the quesabirrias! The quesabirrias remind me of Mexico One of the things I miss the most since going vegan is seafood and the shrimp fries and tacos are perfection! Highly recommend to give them a visit!

Wow what a flavor bomb. And I am a meat eater. Really flavorful and tender chorizo. Lots of sauce. Crispy fried tortilla chips. Opted for the extra 3 sauces on the side. Orange salsa was refreshing. Avocado salsa was over the top.
